Grizzlies suspend Swift

Grizzlies center Stromile Swift did not practice with the team today for what is termed a team-imposed suspension. Conduct detrimental to the team may be the official reason given because Swift and head coach Marc Iavaroni exchanged words on the bench during the Grizzlies

Why is that whenever a player is having troubles with his current team, we have a thread appear here?

because that's how you acquire players in the NBA, through the TPC = troubled players clause...and we sign this with the TPLE = troubled player league exception...

I know what the article says but I was just meaning if he is having some issues with Iavaroni then they may want to get rid of him. It appears that he is playing behind some players that are not a Center or Power forward. In like the past 10 games, he has been the last player off the bench or he has not played at all.

i got you, and like i said i wouldnt mind him one bit. ive liked him since day one when he was drafted. honestly i remeber big things were expected of him. but either he has a low b-ball IQ or he just doesnt give a sh*t and is lazy. i think Gundy would be able to motivate him, and playing next to Dwight would give him some easy shots. I rememebr when he was with the Rockets he showed some nice moves. Even when he started with the Grizz he was decent IMO. I also think he would have been a great fit for the Suns or Dallas. He can run and jump like a freak.

Stro, I hate to say is an enigma. You would think of the potential he can use to help his team win games. He for some reasons has trouble staying motivated or is just lazy. As for the argument between him and MI. Stro has been in the doghouse for the past few games and has barely played much minutes. So whatever he said to MI must've stinged enough for the team to give Stro a suspension.

Didn't he already play for a VanGundy?

Does our team have motivation issues already? (witness the most recent Detroit game)

It's not about the system, imo. It's about the player's attitude and desire to be coached.

JVG had issues with him. MI now appears to have problems with him. He's had problems with prior coaches. Why would SVG not have problems with him?

this happens to a few players. they produce poorly under certain coaches. but once they find the right coach everything is fine. Take Ben Wallace for instance he played well for Orlando and Detroit but when he went to the Bulls didnt he clash with Skiles?

Stro's main issue back in Houston was JVG's half court system. Stro's quickness and cut in half in that system. Stro can function better in a run and gun with his athleticism.

I'm pretty sure he had issue while he was in Detroit as well.

Did he have any issues in Memphis the first time around?
