You're just assuming that some good trade possibility would come up that we could swing if Rashard's contract were cheaper.
over the term of a max year contract? thats a given. Follow some NBA some time. When haven't a number of players become available over 5 or 6 years? Good night! There you go again....
making no sense.
No, you're just assuming that we could swing some deal to improve from what we'd currently have (Rashard). That is just a big assumption that you are acting as if it is a given. It's not a given. It's merely speculation on your part. Further, that speculation all relies on previous speculation by you in which you assumed that we could have even acquired Rashard for this discounted price that you've thought up.
What if we couldn't have gotten him with a contract cheaper, and the alternative was not having Rashard?
You're just throwing names like Gilbert, Kobe and LeBron assuming that we could have signed Rashard cheaper and that then we would be able to make a deal for players like that.
With the way Turk is playing now. Put him with Rashard and you'd have interest from any team forced to move its star.
As for getting him cheaper being speculation. thats on your GM bud. We'll never know because we never tried to do anything but pay him top dollar. Losing him is just bogus nonsense. He stated he wanted to come here. that he would pull that up and decide elsewhere for your imaginary team that was throwing him money is quintessential speculative nonsense
Again, you're just making stuff up and trying to pass it off as fact, and then using that "fact" to criticize the move.
maginno wrote:Fact is, we've got Rashard, we're 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and we've got the best record that we've had in 9 years.
And the fact is that Miami has been in this league a shorter time before winning a championship. So keep comparing to 9 years of mediocrity as your basis for success.
Umm, great?
Do you know how many teams have won a championship since the Magic franchise was created? Six.
It's very rare, and we're steadily making a push towards being a contending team.
You can sit around and make up all of these better scenarios that Otis should have and "could have" done, and bitch and moan about how much we suck, but again, the fact is this team has a great foundation and it's in the best position that it's been in a while.
Simply a loser mentality. We cannot contend with this bunch. We have question marks at three of five positions in PF SG and PG. A championship will not be won or contended for with all those holes. That speculation is a dream world that you are living in due to a good stretch.
Does anyone realistically think that this team is in it's final state? Come on.
