Reading some of the rags, I am convinced, Kidd does blame Carter.
My own interpretation (as a big Kidd fan, and ambivalent on Carter ... I don't love or hate VC, he is what he is)
Kidd was really pissed-off by Carter's max max extension. That's the real reason he made noises about wanting a maximum extension himself earlier this season -- it was his back handed, Kidd way, of criticizing the VC extension.
Kidd's biggest problem with Carter (Well actually this is my biggest problem with Carter) is Carter's inability to produce in the playoffs. We've seen it for 3 years in a row now. Kidd and RJ are doing all the heavy lifting and covering VC's ass in the playoffs.
Carter's just doesn't have the passion or personality to take it up a notch for a sustained playoff push. Think KVH...

If the same Heat team were around in 02 and 03, the Nets wouldn't have made it to the finals those years. Think a little, please. VC does show up, but when you play the better teams in the playoffs, they just focus on VC, especially when RJ has been injured in all of our playoff runs practically (all 3 infact). Who else scores besides VC?? No one, we don't have anyone else, not even close. Why not blame RJ?? Why not Kidd? The ONLY consistent scorer the Nets have had is VC. STOP WITH THE DUMBNESS MAN!!

*edit* Look at Kidd's numbers any year except for last in the big 3 era and tell me he preformed at a high level. Look at RJ's stats - they're even worse in comparison with Kidd's.
Just WOW. WOOOOOW is all I can say. Don't point at the PLAYOFFS and try to criticize Carter when ALL other teams do is go at him because they KNOW no one else on the Nets will step up with consistency.

The team just needs their big man to come back in shape and healthy. They were doing great when their big man was also a force. They don't remember that and fans don't remember that. I think that if Nenad comes back this season and is healthy and strong enough to do 75% of what he did on the block, this drama will go away. They need that spacing on the floor. They should be using Magloire but Frank isn't too bright. Once they establish a man in the paint, then the players will have less pressure on themselves and more room to efficiently do their job.......

You're talking about two years ago when Carter put up those numbers, and they got their ass kicked by the Heat in the second round? He had two good games in that series, and they lost both games. The rest of the series he was just chucking, had poor shot selection, No D. No heart. Same ol Vince.etopn23 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-![]()
Yep, putting up 30p/5a/7r/2s/1b a game over a 11 game stretch was real disappointing aye.

He's suppose to go at teams, not the other way around. He had shown that he was capable of doing that at one time, but he just doesn't care. During the Heat series RJ and Kidd played better, and were more consistent. The only reason they won a game was because of RJ, and Kidd.
You must be saying wow alot, considering no team would touch him, since he's so great right?

If teams are goin at him so much cause he's the only good scorer, then why doesn't he pass it more instead of taking stupid shots when he's being guarded so well?
Yea he got his assists, but he would've had alot more if he would of passed the freakin ball, but he'd rather take low % shots. No contact is his game.

They didn't lose the Miami series because of Vince. They lost because their bench sucked and Krstic struggled. Carter played well in that series along with Jefferson and Kidd. And in the previous series he helped knockout the Pacers where Kidd struggled to outplay Anthony Johnson.
Same ol Vince haters.

I didn't say they lost because of Vince, so don't quote me on that sh*t. They lost because Miami was better. They were tough. Vince isn't. He took too many stupid 3 point shots in that series anyways.Velociraptor wrote:-= original quote snipped =-

His career playoff fg% in like 41%. With his ability he should've shot around 48-50%. He only plays when he feels like it...everyone knows that. To me that doesn't exactly show that you're greatful for the opportunity to play in the NBA which is a great privilege. That why I don't respect him.

It's implied in your stupid criticism of Carter that it was somehow mainly because of his play they weren't able to win more games or the series vs Miami. Just look at your most recent comment, "They lost because Miami was better. They were tough. Vince isn't". Who reading your comments doesn't get the impression you're blaming Vince as the main reason for defeat in the series vs Miami? And are you denying he had a good playoff run in 05/06?
Oh look, Iverson only shoots 40% in the playoffs for his career. Even Lebron only shot 41.6% in last years playoffs. Lebron and Iverson don't care, they're not tough blah blah blah... Vince comes to play in the playoffs like most other players. And Vince shot 46.3% in the 05/06 playoffs yet you're still **** about something.
