Go after Delonte West...

Post#1 » by Kosta » Wed Jan 30, 2008 4:46 pm

Why not? He would be a great back-up for us right now, even when T.J would get back, he could play some 2 for us. He's a good shooter and a solid perimeter defender.

Doesn't look like the Sonics consider him part of their future, B.C should at least inquire and see what they'd want for him.

I'd much rather see the Raps get West than Stoudamire.

I think West could fit here because of his ability to play both backcourt positions, still giving him a role after Ford returns.
Roy's the best player I've played against outside this guy from my hood in Queensbridge, guy named Mike Chaplain. He went to jail when he was 15 years old. He was the best player I played against, now it's Brandon Roy.

Actually, I think they should look at both Kurt Thomas and West in some sort of package.

Agreed. I'd be over the moon if they could land both these guys. But who do we give back? I'm guessing Seattle just wants expiring deals so they can continue to rebuild. But we'll have to trade an asset of some kind, right?

Kurt Thomas would be a huge help on the boards for us.

I'd be willing to take back a contract, if it were to get West and Thomas here...(Damien Wilkins)

Toronto Raptors

Incoming Players

Delonte West
Salary: $1,889,760 Years Remaining: 1
Kurt Thomas
Salary: $8,091,188 Years Remaining: 1

Outgoing Players: Rasho Nesterovic, Juan Dixon + 07 First round pick

Seattle SuperSonics

Incoming Players

Rasho Nesterovic
Salary: $7,840,000 Years Remaining: 1 + 1 yr Player option
Juan Dixon
Salary: $2,550,000 Years Remaining: 1
+ 07 First round pick

Outgoing Players: Delonte West, Kurt Thomas

Seems pretty even to me. We give them a pick to balance out Rasho contract for 1 extra year. Both West and Thomas are expiring as well, so that helps out our cap situation this year as well.

Can't we not trade our pick this year? But otherwise I think it's fair

Its to balance out Rasho's extra year. Also, the 2 guys coming back are better than the ones going out. On top of that, we get immediate capspace instead of waiting for Rasho to expire next year.

Kurt Thomas would help out big time......but giving the 1st round pick is a no no. I would like to keep the pick even it will be in the hig teens.

West and Thomas would be fantastic additions, addressing both our avid needs of a PG and rebounder.

I don't know if they take on Rasho. But if they did, I'd be willing to take back Wilkins longer contract in this deal and throw in Graham or something.
