Spurs are looking to upgrade from Jacques Vaughn - and Damon is an updgrade. His addition will also add some valuable insurance in case Tony P. goes down again.

This union makes good sense.

I never considered the Celtics as a real match because Eddie House is doing a fine job playing 2nd fiddle.

Fine job, but in a perfect world, they want him spotting up behind the arc and receiving passes I'm sure.

I get the feeling that Sam I Am and KG are lobbying somewhat to reunite. It'll be interesting to see if the Clipps cave.

Boykins is a great perimeter defender - good for defending guys like Rondo, Conley types, ei. the small quick guys Jose gets destroyed by.

Boykins can bench 320-350 I believe. Hes a strong little bastard. His shot is alright, but last year with Denver and Milwaukee he did shoot a lot - then again, Denver before AI didn't have anyone outside of Carmelo, and Milwaukee was destroyed by injuries. I'm sure he would fit in ok if he were brought in, much better than Dixon anyway.

I think House and Stoudemire are pretty much even caliber.

That said, I agree that Sam-I-Am would be a perfect fit in Boston.

Very unlikely Damon would come back for a team that's not close to contending. Not quite sure how the fans (new and old) would receive him. I'm sure he's taking into account how vile the fans are here towards former players and how bipolar they are compared to other fans. It's a Toronto thing (Raps, Leafs, FC, ...not so much the Jays because baseball game play sucks the life out of you.)

This is what I've said about Boston and any other team built to win now (ie Celts, Spurs), players will flock to the team and get paid for less than what they can get in the market. That's an automatic boost in strengthening at least the bench.

For myself I would welcome it for sentimental value as he was was amazing to watch during most of his time here. Perfect for any team looking for a floor leader and outside threat.

Mighty Mouse will not come and save the day.

Too good. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the league if the Clips just let him go. I really hope they don't.

So I wonder if FINALLY when Damon returns with the Spurs in February, will we stop booing the guy? I really hope so, it will be about 10 years in February since he left. Time to move on folks.

With the recent news of Tony Parker out indefinitely and the rumored spurs to make a quick attempt at Damon, It looks like the Spurs will win the Damon sweepstakes.

He would be thrust into the starting role as long as Parker is out.

Ginobli and Barry have missed time, same as Horry.

Im not putting too much worry into the Spurs and their regular season.

Tim Duncan is too dominant not to believe that in the playoffs the Spurs are head and shoulders above most other teams.

Well we know they will be tough in the playoffs but from what I've seen this year they are missing something as compared to last year.

Troy Hudson was just waived. Would he be any use as a backup pg?

In the EVER changing Stoudamire story:

Stoudamire, who would like to decide Wednesday where he'll spend the rest of the season, was expected to speak by telephone Tuesday with San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Phoenix Suns coach Mike D'Antoni, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com.

The Toronto Raptors also remained in the picture, the source said.

Stoudamire will be free to sign with any NBA team after he clears waivers at 6 p.m. ET Wednesday.

I guess it ain't time to lock this thread up just yet.

I thought he has some sort of hip injury that was going to keep him out till April?
