Of course they are tanking. Everyone knows Shaq always plays just with the playoffs in mind. No playoffs. No Shaq. I told all my Heat friends three weeks ago Shaq would soon be injured and need a lot of "recovery time". Why would they want to put Wade out there at full speed now.

Anyway the most interesting thing about this game should be how many minutes JJ gets. Stan will particularly not want to make it look like he's piling it on his former team.

Miami needs to tank the year.

Beasley might be there for the taking.

Man I feel sorry for Wade. One of the greatest players playing today. A true all-around superstar. The only one who can compete with Wade in that category is Lebron. Shame he has to play on a bad team. They need to drop Shaq asap, he's finished, at least they can use his fat contract to get some talent in return. The best thing for them is to tank this year, get a top 3 pick in the draft, trade Shaq and rebuild around Wade with young talent, like they were with Van Gundy with Butler, Wade, Odom...that team was pretty good.

Very True, but not many players have had it as well as he had his first 4 years. This will be the first year he's not on a good team and won't make the playoffs.

He's gotten to play with Caron, Odom, Shaq, Zo, Payton etc. and be coached by SVG and Riley. He's played in 2 ECFs, 1 Finals, and he has a ring.

Now, if the Heat don't turn it around next year or 2, then I will feel sorry for Wade. Hopefully they can add a real stud in the draft this year.

If this game is not a blow-out..this team needs to focus. We always let down vs. bad teams. And now we have one of the worse teams in the L right now without their what 4 best players? This needs to be a blow-out.

I really do hate the heat. (No offense heat fans) But I've always hated them. A win vs. them is always good. But this game should not be close at all.

I guess you didnt' read my entire post where I noted that at some point you begin screwing over legit bad teams.

MagicNolesFSU wrote:lol thats not a valid solution at all.

Your just screwing over all the actually bad teams.

Thanks for re-emphasizing. Hopefully he read your comment about it. His 'solution' is (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

dwightmeer wrote:I guess its almost impossible to prevent.

One idea might be assigning lottery position based on the teams record over the past two or three seasons. I know this is a radical idea, and im not suggesting that they adopt it, but it was the only thing i could think of.

This actually isn't a bad idea in principle.

First off, I would keep the lotto structure where even a mediocre team could end up winning it. From there, I would implement it with increased weighting for the more recently bad teams (i.e. if there are two teams with the same record over the span of 3 years and one team played worse in the previous year than the other, give the team that more recently played worse the better chance at the lotto).

Wow, no Wade, Haslem or Oneal? I expect some hack like Wayne Simien to go for 35 tonight and we lose by 8. God I better be wrong.

This reminds me of that game a few years ago when we played Indiana after the Brawl. They only suited up like 7 players, and they were the worst 7. Most of those guys hadn't even played all year. What does Orlando do? Barely scrapes out a win in the closing minutes.

SOMEONE (if not 2 or 3 people) from Miami is going to have the best game of their career tonight. Let's just hope we learned our lesson from the Indiana game.
My 2 favorite NBA teams:

1) Orlando Magic
2) Whoever is playing the Celtics

This game would be incredibly hard to lose. I just hope we don't find a way to do so.

The thing I find funny about this game is. When we were bad there was no shortage of Heat fans or NBA analysts that loved rubbing salt in our wombs. The pitty party going on for the Heat is amazing. I think Magic fans have been pretty nice considering the flack we have taken over the years. With that being said, we are going to crush these sorry bastards.

Dwight takes 7 shots... and makes 6. Arroyo goes 6-14, Lewis goes 4-15, Hedo goes 8-17 and we lose by 3 points after a Hedo desperation 3 clanks off the rim :)
