Stro Suspended
Saw this on the Grizz boards and it's being reported by the Commercial Appeal as well.

Stro and MI were seen having a discussion in last night's game. According to Sports 56. The discussion wasn't animated enough to draw an audience, but apparently it was enough for Stro to draw the one game suspension.

Even before this incident, I have long suspected that the Grizz were giving Stro the business. Stromile has a player option for next year and sometimes a team will send a player a message regarding picking up that option. With the way he has been handled this year is there any way in the world Stro picks up that option for another season of this? I am beginning to wonder if Chris Wallace and Coach I are on the same page, as I recall CW making a special trip to Miami (Stro's off season home) to tell him how he was a big part of there plans in the coming season. Granted Stro has his short comings but I have not seen what has regulated the guy to Iavaroni's dog house for a huge part of the season. I guess we can say goodbye to Stro this offseason as well?

I can think of 6,500,000 reasons why he would - but maybe I'm just being cynical.

If someone else suggest to Michael Heisley to buyout another player besides actually killing the messenger he would probably just sell the team to the local ownership group and call it a day.
Stromile could easily get another mid-level exception type deal if he decided to opt out. 4yr - 20 to 22 million is not out of the question, although it would be a pay cut, but he can still get paid.

I think Moore gets paid way more than 3 million per...

Sports 56? You heard it here first in the game thread hehe.
What a joke. Didn't Iavaroni say before the season started that he liked having Stromile's defense in the starting lineup.. then turn around and relegate Stromile to a career low in minutes per game?
The way Stromile was handled in that Dallas game was a joke. Nice job by Ron Tillery reporting Stromile getting shoved by Dampier on his foul.

Ron Tillery wrote:Swift entered the game for Pau Gasol. About 30 seconds later, Dallas center Erick Dampier shoved Swift and caused Swift to commit a foul. Swift smiled in disbelief after the referee's whistle.
From what was shown on tv, Stromile just appeared to be trying to explain himself to Coach Iavaroni. He didn't appear to be overly upset or even disrespectful.
It seems to me that Stromile has done his best to have a good attitude this season and has done everything he can to make the relationship between he and Coach Iavaroni despite Iavaroni's harsh treatment and the favoritism often shown to Juan Carlos Navarro and Casey Jacobsen (earlier in the season) with regard to minutes.
Doesn't seem right at all that Stromile should be treated harshly for trying to have a discussion with Coach Iavaroni.

In all fairness we have no idea what was said.
That's true, we certainly don't. It looked to me like Stromile was really trying to make his case ... and I interpret that as being motivated by Stromile's desire to make the situation and the relationship work.

Very, true and it may well be that Stro was 100% in line, respectful, etc and the Grizz management was outta line. Nothing would surprise me. On the other hand, I've seen some pretty harsh things said in what was the tone and demeanor of a regular conversation. It also may have been a "last straw" event that tailed off of another situation.
Hopefully after the one game all will be resolved and we can continue on with this disaster of a season...

I'm really curious what exactly it was that is behind Coach Iavaroni's decision to bench him ... Stromile seemed like he was playing very aggressive.
Ron Tillery's aticle says that Coach Iavaroni wasn't happy with Swift's body language and readiness to play....
I wonder what it was that made him feel that way? Stromile did turn the ball over after an aggressive move and he did get scored on a couple times... but we've seen the Grizzlies getting scored on all season... and in fact earlier in the game Andre Brown was scored on several times in a row... was Brown's readiness to play also not good?
