Yeah, I have both in as reserves. No reason they shouldn't each get in.

Plus, Rip plays defense. He won't lax off his man so he can keep his turnover numbers down. Raptor fans have even admitted that Calderon won't play on his man as much if it will ruin his ast/to ratio.

I'm sure I could make cases for Michael Redd and Joe Johnson as well.

Calderon is a good player, but he's not an all-star.

true, he only scores 12.3 PPG but he only takes 9.25 shots per game. Hamilton takes 15 shots a game. Which explains his 19 ppg.

Calderon's real 3PT% is 44%, which is alot higher then 40%
and .518 for 2 pters
free throws - .915
and he only plays 31 MPG

Point is, Calderon is the most efficient PG. Who are the other PGs who shoots 50/40/90 ?

Hamilton also attempted 10 less 3pters this season, and only has 3% advantage over Caldy.

Yeah, makes sense to me, Unless coaches go on that winning record factor, and reward a guy like Ray Allen. Remember the season Detroit went to that ridiculous run and they got 4 players in. But Joe Johnson, Mike Redd, Richard Jefferson, these guys simply don't deserve to be there, considering how bad their clubs have performed.

All of the celts big 3 will get in whether they deserve it or not. Therefore, Ray Ray will take the spot of somebody who's probably more deserving.

hamilton and billups should make it but calderon!!! come on guys orlando is better than toronto.. It's not logical toronto have 2 all-stars and orlando one.. i'm sure hedo will make it as a wildcard(i can't deny butler and pierce are locks at forward position). besides hedo, coachs can write jamison, calderon, g-wall or somebody else...

There's already enough forwards going (Bosh, Butler, Pierce, Jamison), you need to get in some guards. Hedo is the odd man out for the forwards.

My picks for reserves... not absolutely what I'd have , but realistic...

East: Billups, Hamilton, Butler, Jamison, Bosh; WC: Pierce, Turkoglu (Joe Johnson in case of injury).

West: Paul, Nash, Howard, Boozer, Amare; WC: Camby, Roy/Baron.

HM and incase of injury: Deron, Ginobili, S-Jax, Dirk, Chandler

I agree with JVG, in that the rosters be increased. There are numerous guys who deserve to make it, who get left out. There isn't a reason for that other than there aren't enough spots.

Calderon is having a great season and his numbers as a starter would probably have me have him in as an all-star but the fact is you should look at his numbers for the entire season and 12.3 PPG is just not enough from a guard IMO.

If he was a top notch defender then maybe. I think that's a reason why Billups gets more recognition because he is a big strong physical defender at the PG position to go along with what he does on the other end of the floor.

Don't get me wrong he's played great as a starter and his Assist to TO ratio is very very impressive but I don't see him as more deserving than some of the other guys.

That's just the way it is.

Joe Johnson/Rip Hamilton is more exciting to watch then Calderon and Pierce is way more exciting to watch Turk. The all star game is all about excitement and personally I don't want to watch those two. Thats just my opinion.

Since when is RIP Hamilton exciting? I don't think running around and taking midrange jumpers off of screens is very exciting. Also Joe Johnson is pretty damn boring too, he is basically a jumpshooter.

Yeah but their both more exciting to watch then Calderon and Turk and put up better or equal stats to them.
