Thought that Thaddeus should have definitely made it.

Can't really say that Smith or Young deserve a spot compared to the guys on the list.

It sucks that only 9 players are on each team though. The minimum should be changed to 10 to allow a backup player for every position.

You could probably argue about Conley because he missed many games but otherwise those other guys were definitely better. We rather have to watch out whether Thad makes the cut for the sophomore team.

How does Bargnani make the team? If it wasn't for Cheeks Thad would probably have made the team but he held him back most of the year till the last few weeks.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that Rodney Carney didn't make the Soph Team. :-)

This time next year, I'd like to see the following:

1- Our new PF and possibly Iguodala representing the Sixers in the All-Star game

2- Thad on the Sophomore Team and our newest draft pick on the rookie team

3- Thad in the dunk contest

4- Miller in the skills competition

I think he made it because, unlike most of the posters here, NBA scouts and execs who put this team together understand that Bargnani is going through a little bit of a learning period right now. He was pretty good last year but this year, the Raps are trying to turn him into a defensive center.

Sure... it could be that or more likely it could be the fact that he was the #1 pick and his spot is based on name recognition and draft status rather than actual production. If Bargnani was pick #31 instead of pick #1, he's not on that team this year.

The international appeal is very important to the NBA in all of its high profile events.

Damn I'm good (my prediction from a thread on Jan 16th)...

Well, just looked at last year and only 9 guys were on the roster. That kinda sucks. Based on that, Thad is right on the cutoff I think.

I'd take
PG - Conley
SG - Durant - Navarro
SF - Moon - Green
PF - Yi - Scola (forgot him 1st time)
C - Horford - Williams

Same as TGP, but I'm taking Navarro or Cook over Brewer

Usually I can't either....unless it's in regards to sports. My brain allows for about 90% capacity related to sports and about 10% for any other information.

That's funny, I just started watching LOST. Was tired of hearing everyone tell me how great is is so I had to check it out for msyelf. I just finsihed watching the 4th episode of the 1st season...I have to find some way to watch another 80+ episodes by Thursday night to get caught up, lol. Going to have to DVR the next couple months (maybe the whole season) and watch them after I'm caught up I guess.

But it shouldn't be about 'who was good last year', or 'who WOULD be good if they weren't going through a learning period'.

Yep.

I think if the teams were made up ten games from now, Thad may be on the team.

You know, I actually agree with this reasoning as to why Bargnani is on the team more than what I wrote. You're right. Bargnani is pretty big in Italy and, if Garbajosa wasn't hurt, he would have made the team as well for the sophmores just to appeal to the Spanish fans.

Thad probally did not make the team bc he recently started playing well. Most of those other guys are starters on their team for most of the season and or have played good minutes for their team since the start of the season.

How does Conley make the team while only playin like 20games???

if you're gonna give me "someone needs to be a PG?" (well fine but come on...)
-------------
Here's some of his stats:
19 games/ 26mins/9pts/5asts/2.5 rpg

they're OK, not stellar. and only over 20games w Rudy Gay n Gasol to dish too...
--------------

and Navarro made it too??? so the worse team in the league has TWO point guards in this game?? I'll be a "homer" but anyone who has seen our boy THAD, this game is perfect for him and hte league....

for him to play with all his peers (although he'd be the 2nd youngest out there.....), is exactly what would really push him thru the 2nd half....

now im not one to wish someone injured BUT............
