Players that shot more 3's than Kapono in Jan.
I know we've had our fair share of Kapono threads recently, but I thought I'd try to put this into perspective a bit. Jason Kapono is the all-time leader in 3PT % at 46.7%. We signed him to the MLE to pretty much do nothing but jack 3's. He took a whopping 7 3-point attempts in 13 games in January.
Here's a sampling of the 3-point snipers who shot more 3s than him this month.
Thabo Sefalosha (Career: 31.5%)
JJ Barea (35.4%)
Anthony Carter (18.2%)
Bobby Jones (28.9%)
Arron Afflalo (17.2%)
Bonzi Wells (32.6%)
Andre Owens (39.2%)
Al Thornton (31.8%)
Casey Jacobsen (35.9%)
Luke Jackson (!) (34.6%)
Royal Ivey (35.9%)
Darrell Armstrong (33.4%)
Marcus Vinicius (42.1%)
Fred Jones (34.0%)
DJ Strawberry (21.4%)
Sergio Rodriguez (28.7%)
Brad Miller (31.1%)
Earl Watson (34.3%)
CJ Miles (32.7%)
Oleksiy Pecherov (26.7%)
At some point, you can't blame Smitch's playbook or opposing defenses anymore. Dude just needs to jack it up. He has a lightning quick release, but he never uses it if there's a guy on him. Right now it's an automatic dribble drive. The only time he shoots 3s anymore is in transition when the defense is scrambling or when he's left unattended (how often is that going to happen?). He needs to trust his quick release more.

Teams are literally refusing the leave Kapono alone at the arc anymore and he doesn't have the athleticism or skill to get shots for himself.
But let's blame it completely on the coaching instead.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.

you do realize that our crude, play-less teams leads the league in 3-point FG%, right?
^^ +1 ^^
Knowing your players and a great play call got a miracle 3 to put the game into overtime last night...
X's and O's don't do squat if your players don't execute...

Okay we lead the league in fg% at the 3- point line, yet we're 25-20. Someone or something has to be blamed for those 20 losses. No one expects us to be perfect but we should not be 25-20. Who/what do you blame? Bargs? Injuries?
I personally blame the coaching staff and injuries. Not so much injuries as T.J hasen't been gone the whole season and we "supposely" have a deep bench. Believe me good coaching can work wonders. On paper we have a better squad than Portland, yet they have a better record than us, with their number 1 pick going down for the season. Coaching.

I can think of more than a couple of game when it would have helped to have TJ healthy. And Boxh hasn't been right until the last few weeks. Even some of Bargs play it could be argued can be attributed to his injuries.
I am not totally sold on Sam being the guy to take us to the promised land but he has be doing a very good job with what he has.

Presenting the teams record, then expecting an explanation for every loss is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Forgetting the fact that 3/5th of our starting lineup this year is different, we have played one of the toughest schedules and our #1 pick is not performing, have you ever though that maybe our team is as good as our record states?
If you look at the standings, Boston, Detroit and Orlando are the only teams with better records than us. Cleveland, Toronto and Washington round out the rest of the top 6. Cleveland and Toronto look like they will end up 4/5 which is a respectable finish and a respectable finish.
What's holding us back isn't coaching. It never really was. We're just not as talented as Boston/Detroit and our record reflects that.
Revisit your statements about our record at the end of February.

We'll did you expect to have the same roster for the next five years? Look at Boston they completly changed not only their starting line-up, but their entire roster, yet there winning games. Look at the injuries plaging Washington, yet they still find ways to win. We have to resort to bashing one player for the loss in what is a team game. Isn't that partly the reason why we have a "deep" bench, for injuries and the fall-offs of a player? We have possibly Two players going to the all star game (Bosh, Calderon), two going to the rookie Challange (Bargs, Moon), another possible all star canidate who played part of the season (T.J), solid talent that's developing (Delfino, Hump), and a solid vet (parker). Yes I do believe that we can preform better than our record shows.
How is it possible that we finish first in our confrence yet lose a series to a team in the same confrence? That's inexcusable. Do you really think that Garbo would have changed the series? Playoffs is all about coaching and match-ups. Quite frankly that's the failure of a coach.

Not sure. Hard to see on T.V with his 5 NBA rings reflecting off the screen.
I am sure he actually wears them all with the ego he has. I am sure that bright light is helping keeping the fans warm as well as the fires burning from the cap hell they are in.

Must have been sweet win VanGundy though.
