OT- GameNight Live on rapsTV- Raps Like Iggy?

Post#1 » by TR50 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 5:07 am

Didn't see anything posted on this, but this is just pure speculation i guess.

Iunno if anyone else was watching RapsTV at about 11, i'm not sure...i believe it was Vescey who said that the Raps always liked Iguodala and somewhat pursued him? Maybe in a possible deal...he also mentioned the Suns and two teams he couldn't remember.

If BC really is interested and somehow got him here...it'd be rather sweet :P

Just food for thought

would love him here, dont see us trading Bargs, Bosh or TJ (not at this time with the injury) or even Jose. Not happening.

Hell yeah I'd trade either one of the PG's or Bargnani for him. Not both though. If we traded both I'd want Dalembert coming this way.

I'm sure there are a number of players BC would like to acquire. I'd be surprised if we didn't like Josh Smith and Luol Deng, too.

Vescey said it? Damn, now there's no way it can happen.

This guy really has no issue with creating junk stories and circulating viscous rumors just to appear in articles/shows.

yeah there are some other players I'd take over Iggy. PLus i'd rather go after Dalembert to help our rebounding woes.

Unfortunately.

I remember that draft, I was going nuts that Deng was going to fall to us, then he was taken at 7. After that, was thinking about Iggy and how he'd look as a Rap.

Babcock sure surprised the hell out of me.

When I think of misses in the draft I think of Bynum. I wonder what cascade of different events would have occured if he had been picked. TJ? Who would BC have offered? Would Raps have traded down to Roy? Ah well.

Hmmm.... do you think our fan base would have waited 4 years for Bynum to come around without labelling him a bust?!

3 years?

But so true anyway. 8)

Don't forget the one that would have blamed Sam for not using him correctly. :P

If I were BC I would do anything in my power to acquire Iggy, and that includes dealing Bargs... But we'll get our chance in free agency, since he turned down that extension... If he wants a near max deal, we should give it to him, we all saw how much Lewis helped the Magic this year, Iggy is younger and potentially a perennial all-star, the perfect perimeter sidekick to Bosh...

Jose/TJ/Iggy/Bosh is the perfect foundation, we can fill in the other positions with role players....

The only thing I don't like about Iggy (besides his insanely high arcing three point shot) is he tries to be too flashy at times. I'm a substance over style guy myself. But it would be nice to have him on the team. He's relatively unselfish, shoots good percentage and has very good athleticism

I would give up Bargnani for Iguodala IN A GODDAMN HEARTBEAT.
Thats not even because of bargnani's struggling game. Iguodala would bring such amazing toughness and defence to our wing-position. He and Bosh would be a much better one two combo than Bargnani/Bosh

1) Iggy did turn down an offer from the 76's, they still have his right after seasons end
2) he is Restricted Free Agent NOT Unrestricted
3) We cant just sign him for a "max deal" because we dont have the cap space
4) He is in the same position as Jose is... Philly has the right to match any offer sheet Iggy signs. And only a handful (perhaps 4-5 teams i forget) have the abilities to outright sign him for a contract high then MLE
5) Only way he is getting here is thru a potential trade with 1 of Bosh/Jose/Bargs going the other way... Fords value has dropped and is not enuff

I saw the segment last night and really enjoyed the banter between Kamla and Vecsey but I really burst out laughing when Vecsey said this.

Basically, he said ever since Iguodola got drafted teams like Phoenix and Toronto really wanted him and were on the phone after he got drafted seeing if Philly would give him up.

I was surprised that Kamla didn't remind him that the Raptors picked #8 in that draft (doh!).
