OT: Joe Johnson is an AllStar reserve

Post#1 » by Raptors90102 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 7:28 am

Its on the Atlanta Board. They have quoted a local newspaper that said that Joe was informed prior to the game that he'll be in the reserves for the Second year running. This means curtains for Jose. Oh well, if Ray Allen makes it as well, this means Jamison got shafted too.

I'm a bit surprised that he's an all-star.

I knew it was going to be either JJ or Jamison. Well I think all Celtics big 3 will Be there.

Damn...oh well. If Jose was playing this ball from the start of the season he would be a shoe in.

You shouldn't be an all star if you're on a loosing team imo.

why do you say that?

smith has been awful this year. he's been a black hole on their offence.

I'm not so sure about that. In the east that would mean they could choose from about 6 teams.

You could have a player like a young Lebron on a team just below .500 but if you're forced to pick just from winning teams, you might have to pick a player like Hedo from a team with a few more wins.

I think having the coaches vote is the best way we have. Usually they get it right on at least 5 of the 7 players. One or two real snubs at most.

jj sucks. he doesnt make his team or his teammates better around him. hes paid max money to let his team play like trash every year. over a guy who leads his team to one of the best records in the east with the hardest schedule? total crap.

what jj is thinking right now >> "yeah baby, my team sucks and i collect mad paychecks. but i put up sweet stats on a perpetual lottery team. im an all star baby! im da best!"

Actually, he hasn't. Also JJ's numbers are down considerably from last season. He's an awful selection this season on every level.

Agreed. This is a pity pick for Atlanta because they have improved as a team some coaches figure somebody from the Hawks deserves to be a star, but I think they voted for the wrong one.

I don't necessarily believe this yet, but there's so many raps selected already, I think they like to spread it around a bit.

This is awful but predictable. The coaches always pick the wrong guys every year because they base decisions on what the player did a year ago or even before. The fans do this too. They voted Grant Hill as a starter when he was on the bench the whole season. I guarantee you that Jose will be an All-Star next year whether he is this good or not.

Joe is still a good player despite his early struggles, his shot selection still needs work on a young hawks team, but he deserved this more than any other hawk

too bad for Jose, but im sure he's not pissed
