well, if we can get Carter for cheap, we'd have to jump on it...but, Orlando is left with 1 "PG" after this...so....

No to that. I want Lewis over Carter in this situation, considering we're 11 games over .500 with Lewis, while the Nets have been struggling mightily with an older Carter.

we'd have 1 to many 'go to guys'

hedo, shard, lcarer.. i dont see that working with dwight..

too many egos..i know hedo and shard and carter dont really care about being the man...but still...to many good players on a team cant be good.

As he says with a Celtic Avatar and Sig.....

Of course you do something like this for Carter. We definitely need another pg as mentioned already though. They would have to include Marcus in the deal. Carter has never played with a decent big man his entire career. I believe it would work out great with him here given his relationship with Dwight. There is no interest out there at all for him, and getting him without including Hedo would be a great deal for us. An extra playoff series every year would easily pay his salary and then some, and thats exactly what we would be getting from this at the minimum.

For this price? Yes, sure, do it.
Of course a follow up trade of Bogans/Evans for Andre Miller or a power forward would be great if we went down this path.

This trade is a steal for Orlando! Vince Carter still has game left! The problem at Jersey is that he isn't motivated to win! I dont know whether you blame vince for that or coach frank and the organisation but i believe if you put him in a new situation with a new look, where he actually is motivated to play and to win and i can only see him getting back to his all star best! The question is do you want to use up all that expiring money? Highly unlikely this would ever happen...

If we made the trade adding Armstrong in the trade, I would consider it. The reason this trade shouldn't be made if Armstrong isn't included is 1. it makes no sense for us as we'd have to find a productive player in the limited pool of FA PG's and 2. the Net's would have no use for Armstrong with Arroyo, Dooling, and Marcus Williams. I believe we'd have to trade a 1st Round Pick in order to get New Jersey to bite.

Arroyo, Dooling, Garrity, Vasquez and a 1st for Carter and Armstrong. Yeah sign me up.

Nelson/Armstrong
Carter/Bogans
Hedo/Evans
Lewis/Cook/Augustine
Howard/Foyle

We'd still have a decent bench. The question is do the Magic want that much salary til about 2010/11 or so.

listen, you can say what you want about Carter, but if we got 2-3 good seasons out of him, even like the one he's having now we'd be very well off...we RARELY ever have a good 2 on this team...and Carter isnt as selfish today as he has been in the past...

Nelson
Carter
Hedo
Shard
Dwight

is a hell of a lot better than bout 10 or so teams in the east...in fact, it's probably a better team than the Celts...if we have sufficient help at the PG with a veteran and a 3rd stringer, as well as Mo Evans/Cook/Bogans and Battie, we'd be sitting very pretty in the playoffs...VC gets things done when he's motivated and this would be his strongest team to date...he's never had a Dwight Howard...

so, at the price we'd have to do it...and just try and get us some more help in the off season via MLE and maybe another small trade...

but its not happening so...no worries...
