I'm honestly pretty surprised. As the day went on and I heard from Mike Barrett and Quick during the Quick Chat, it sounded more and more like he was going to get the nod, but still... For a 2nd year player to make it, that's VERY impressive.
If you were to tell me Roy would be an All Star before Deron Williams and he'd make his 1st appearance at the same time Chris Paul makes his first appearance, I would have said you're crazy.

well, that's a bit of a surprise and quite an accomplishment for Brandon. Actually it's also an accomplisment for the team because it they weren't in the playoff hunt he wouldn't have made it.
I can't remember the title of the thread, but there was one a couple of months ago where we were all 'predicting' brandon's future. I'd be curious to see what we all said. I can't remember what I said but I know I didn't expect him to be an all-star this year.

As little as a few weeks ago, I didn't think Roy would make it. It's just so rare for 2nd year players to make the team, especially with such steep competition out West.

To be fair, we'd be doing our own share of complaining had Roy been snubbed. Remember last season when freakin' Okur got the nod of Randolph?

and considering it's a vote by the coaches, it's really an honor. Of course most of them have already 'voted' for him when they change their defenses to try and dtop him. That too is rare for a 2nd year player.
by the way...you were at the game last night and I didn't see your 'report' in the game thread. It's well past the deadline you know...

My report from last nights game...
*Cavs stink outside of LeBron and Gibson. Larry Hughes and Credric Simmons were laughably awful.
*The Blazers really didn't play a great game. They didn't get much help from anyone outside of Roy, Aldridge, Przybilla and Travis.
*More so than anything, the main reason Portland lost the game was LeBron James. He just decided he wasn't going to lose and became a deadly 3pt shooter. It's just one of those moments where you throw your hands up and go "Whatda ya gonna do?"

They do have a case though. Davis clearly deserved to be an AS, but hell, somebody had to get left out...

You guys want to know the real injustice here? Well here it is: Roy has to play the rookie challenge game AND the All Star Game on the 2nd night of a back to back for him! NOBODY ELSE IS GOING TO BE ON THE 2nd NIGHT OF A BACK TO BACK!!! THE LEAGUE IS OUT TO GET US!!! lmao
I want an iRoy dammit. I voted for him too, I want my piece of the action!
