If Kidd goes to Dallas

Is he still an Eastern Conference All star?

Does it free up a guard spot?

He would play for the Western team.

They would just have one more member then normal I believe. They would also add one person to the East probably.

I believe AI played for the West with his votes moving over to the other side as well. I think the replacement for AI was the next leading vote getter in the East guards (Arenas). If that same rule was applied then I think Vince Carter had the most votes after Kidd. Can anyone confirm that? It would make me sick to my stomach if Carter made it as a starter because of that.

If kidd does go to the west, I don't think he plays because then that would take a spot away from the West Guards. But fans vote for him to start?

Even thou fans voted for him to play in the East as a starter. So I don't know how all this plays out. If it is the fans vote than that would make Ray Allen a starter since he was 3rd in votes for the East (if you are talking about the fans vote). It will still be unfair.......

I think if that happened even Kidd would be mad.

Ok just checked, Ray Allen had the most votes after Wade and Kidd, and he doesn't deserve to be an all-star either. I hope they don't replace Kidd with Allen or Carter if Kidd is trade to the West...

So basically Jose still doesn't have a chance if they are going to go with the Fans vote. It would make Ray Ray a Starter........

That trade rumor doesn't ring true to me. Why would jersey want stackhouse when it already has vince and RJ?

would buying out stackhouse be that much cheaper than buying out kidd? stackhouse has $12 million left after this season, kidd about 18 or 19

The TNT crew reported that the Kidd to Dallas deal is "dead".

This reminded me of NBA Live 2003 when Dikembe was on the West All-Stars while he was on the Sixers.

If this deal is dead, I really don't know if Thorn will be able to trade Kidd. Unless another 3rd team comes in the picture other than Portland...

man, thought it'd be about how dallas would do. not about all-star game.

anyways, yeah, like someone said, he'd play in the West and next in line in term of votes gets picked up.

If Kidd goes to the West an argument can be made that we have 2 of the top 3 point guards in the East. The guard position in the East in general is really weak right now.

Good deal for the Nets. But really. If you look at it. Kidd isn't a great fit in Dallas. Its just not right. I don't think Dallas wants to get rid of Harris. He's a good player and I'd keep him since he is having a career season while Kidd is declining..
