Brandon Roy made it because of his team's unexpected hot start especially considering that their franchise center was out prior to the season. Come on. Who would've thought that Portland would tear it up and win like 18 or 19 straight? Exactly. Deron Williams and Chris Paul were not jobbed last season because the former didn't put up All-Star worthy stats and the latter was on a losing squad. Pay the man respect.

And Brandon would beg to differ the last time Portland played Golden State on January 9th, 2008, as the blazers blew out the warriors 109-91, and Roy held Davis to 4 points on 1-6 shooting

Saw the game it was just one of those off games for the whole team it's obvious if Baron only took shot six shots. We will see about Roy and Blazers the second hal of the season when they start fading and miss the playoffs again.

Steals are a TERRIBLE measure of individual defense. I've watched literally every Warriors game this year. Baron gets steals because he gambles on defense. You know what happens 75% of the time he gambles? His man blows past him and the other team gets an easy hoop.

Damn, will the Warriors ever have an all-star again? Ten years without an all-star and snubbed again this year. Hell, our last all-star was so great that he choked our coach, so maybe I have to go farther back to find a legit all-star.

Steals arent the best way to determine defense, but Baron holds his own on defense even against shooting guards. That's the best part about Baron's game he can guard bigger players when he needs to.

Oh please, Greg Oden isn't ANYTHING yet, he hasn't played a single game how can you call him a franchise center?? Also that team has tons and tons of talent on it cause the majority of guys on the roster are lottery picks. And when was 19 and 5 "all-star numbers?" Deron Williams was incredible last year, proved his worth in the playoffs, improved again this year, and is still getting snubbed.

i dont get it....this year makes no sense at all. David west is in over camby...camby is leading the league in rebounds and blocks while west is having average PF numbers. David west cant even crack 10 rpg.
Roy is in the game but baron davis has all around better avg in EVERYTHING.
While joe johnson and dwade are in the east all-star game while theyre on the worsts teams.

Do you people even realize that most of the All-Star game attendees are people from corporate sponsors and such? Maybe some season ticket holders but most people that attend the actual All-Star game aren't "hometown people".
That doesn't mean that Hornets fans can't have fun watching their team's players in the All-Star game.
But yeah, Apologize for my comment earlier about David West being voted in "just to make the hometown happy". I am aware that David West is probably the most underrated star in the league, that statement I made was just from when I was in the heat of the moment of realizing that Baron didn't make the all-star team.

I watch games whenever they are on you can't post a couple of clips and act as if that's enough to say how good Roy's D is. I like Roys just know he didnt deserve the nod over Baron especially when his team is going to dissapear the second half they already started the desent.

The best sign of how messed up the AS game voting is comes in the form of the Denver Nuggets. They had two STARTERS in the game, and yet their best player will be watching at home come AS weekend.
Denver is an average team offensively (ranked 15th, I believe) but has been winning on account of *gasp* their defense this season (ranked 6th). Now, we all know that neither AI nor Carmelo are even average defenders, and we all know that their "strengths" come on the offensive end of the floor....so explain to me how both of them are in, for a team that is on pace for 47 victories, and yet their ONLY standout defensive player, who won DPOY last season, and is currently leading the league in blocks, is second in rebounding and is a regular game changing force for their team........doesn't make it. Wow.
Also, this line about a team deserving representation because of their record is ridiculous. This is an All STAR game, meant to feature the best players in the league. I would argue that Roy has only been marginally better than Aldridge, and that the emergence of Outlaw and the continued hot hand of James Jones to go along with solid team play are much more of a reason for their success than the play of Roy--who has been good, but certainly not better than DWill (my guy), Parker (early on, though he has faded a bit--like the Blazers), Ginobili, Baron Davis (who I am not a fan of, but there is no denying his superb play this year) or Kevin Martin (a clearly better player, even with his missed time taken into account). Its a joke, really.
