I would be surprised if the Blazer make a trade now, unless they feel serious about making a run in the playoffs this season.
Pritchard has said in last month he doesn't like to make trades in the middle of the season. Most of trading or bringing on new players is done at draft time and free agency. He is not contacting anyone for trades, but has been approached many times as the trade deadline of offers that could help the Blazers.
Pritchard trades are based on the major goal of:
1) Acquiring players that will improve the Blazers ability to have many championship runs in the next 2-3 years with the core group of Roy, Oden and LaMarcus.
That includes freeing up cap space for free agency in '09 (i.e. Chris Paul) and '10 (i.e. LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul).
We all know about chemistry is key to the Blazers winning this year.
Pritchard was asked on KFXX what players are his top five / franchise players and he mentioned the big three. Followed by Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriquez. Pritchard is looking for Sergio to help with Rudy Fernandez to spin up quickly in the NBA. Sergio is also Paul Allen's favorite and was the one who said to draft Sergio two years ago when he paid Phoenix for the draft pick. Pritchard has said Travis is only 23 and the coaches say Travis could be a special player in the NBA in the next 2 years.
OK, so the big if this trade was too happen then it will probably include Martell instead of Travis....
Jason Kidd & Martell Webster to Dallas
Jarrett Jack, Channing Frye, Taureen Green, Erick Dampier & Jerry Stackhouse to New Jersey
Devin Harris, Josh Boone & Dallas '08 1st conditional to Portland
Harris, Roy, Outlaw, Aldridge, Przybilla
Rodriguez, Blake, Jones, Miles, Boone
{Yes, Miles, Blazers want to get Miles some playing time before the season ends so they can trade him this summer}
