While we are in another "easy" part of our schedule, this is one of few games in which I'm confident that we will lose hence...

My Prediction: Magic by 10+

I really haven't watched the Magic play this year and other than seeing their highlights on ESPN, I haven't seen much of them. So with that being said, I'm a little shocked to see that Jameer has lost his starting job. How long has this been going on? I imagine the Magic regret signing him to the extension.

Also, this Rose Bowl thing is really started to have some seperation in it. I'm really starting to doubt that the Sixers, Bucks, Bobcats, or Bulls can crack into the Bottom 6. So I guess that if the best we can do is get to #7, well... I might as well live the dream and hope that we can make up the game and half to get into the playoffs.

sixers lose this one. Howard will have a moster game like +20pts and +20rebs.

This game will be a good test for our SF/SG's.

If THFM is right and we somehow find a way to win this game... I really think that could propel this team to go 7-2 over the following 9 games which would not only put the Sixers in strong contention for 8th seed.... but the 7th.

While the top of the East (Boston, Detroit, Orlando) is pretty decent.... the bottom is beyond terrible.

hey guys, jameer is still the starter, he has missed a few games this year and arroyo has came in and started..he just got back last night so i expect nelson to come off the bench, and prolly start the game after..unless stan wants to run this squad a few more games........how are the young guys coming along, curious about carney, i thought we would draft him, doesnt seem like he is getting much playing time...

I think Young will start again to defend Lewis.

Miller vs. Arroyo
Green vs. Bogans
Iguodala vs. Turkoglu
Young vs. Lewis
Sammy vs. Dwight.

And I really hope we have a chance to win this game. I think the Playoffs would help this team a lot more than a 7th pick in the future. We need some more expirience for this young team.

Lets go Sixers

Carney really hasn't stepped up this season the way some of us had hoped he would. That said, he looked good (everybody did) during the Bucks game. Our other young guys (Smith, Young, Williams) are coming along really nicely and are playing some decent basketball for us.

I'm a fan of Jameer so I'm glad to hear that he's just nursing his way back from injury and didn't lose his job.

Carney's a frustrating situation for sure....you can tell he just has no confidence. He keeps settling for shots he knows he can't hit, and that just makes it worse. He needs to be challenged so he can taste success, or fail and then we know we have to move on. The guy just hasn't been in a position to succeed so anyone who says they know much about him is working with little info.

We need the playoffs like the world needs more troops in Iraq. We need a top 3 pick plain and simple.

Politics aside... you're sniffing glue. EVERY team would/should say that they want a Top 3 pick in every draft but the fact of the matter is that the odds of that happening are going to be about 2% if we don't make the playoffs.

2% does little for me and I'm all for positive momentum and seeing our players get a taste (although it will probably be a quick one) of playoff basketball.

By the way, if the Sixers made the playoffs, would they sell out the Center??

Great test to see if Sammy really knows how to stay out of foul trouble because if anyone can get him there it's Howard.

A question regarding a trade between these two teams was thrown around on Chad Ford's chat today...

Joe (Tampa): Andre Miller to the Magic for Arroyo, Dooling (expiring contracts) and Reddick?

Chad Ford: (1:24 PM ET ) Very good deal for the Magic ... however, I'm not sure that's going to be enough for the Sixers. I think they want more than expiring contracts and a lot of GMs around the league think Reddick can't play. How good would Ronnie Brewer have looked in a Magic uniform? Maybe if Jameer Nelson was in the deal ... maybe. Larry Brown loves him.

Is Jameer a poison pill player since he signed his extension last summer??

It's always the same argument... Making the playoffs will help the young players what help has it been? It's one this to accept mediocrity but there is no reason to push it off on others. Why would they sell out to get stomped by the Celtics or Detroit?

This would seem like a game we could compete in, but I still remeber Sam being owned by Howard last year in a blowout.

Sam has real problems with centers that are both stronger and more athletic than him- probably becasue he relies more on his own athletesism than good fundamentals when he plays.

Hopefully Sam puts up a good showing- he did show major improvement against anther tough ceneter when we swept the Rockets.

So...Orlando will be starting the PG(expiring contract) that I want on the Sixers :nonono:

I think the guys come in motivated from the game against the Bucks and lose by 5.

I too look for Young to get the start as his length and speed match up best with Lewis away from the basket. Smith (if healthy) will most likely play Brian Cook and Evans will play against Foyle.

Dalembert will be the key in this game. He is the only Sixer with a chance of effectively defending Howard for long periods of time. And the Sixer bench will have to play awfully well to win the game.

What are you basing that 2% number off of?

I worry about Dalembert this game going against Howard. He generally doesnt do well against "bigger" centers. I do however like the other matchups in this game given Orlandos PG prolems. Hate to say it, but we could get a win and go on our playoff push for about a month.
