As a Jazz fan, I'm glad to see D-Will getting some love. I didn't think he necessarily deserved to be in over Baron or Paul. I thought he should be in before Tony Parker though so I'm glad Tony didn't make the team. Was also definitely surprised to see David West get the nod. I thought for sure it will be somebody else. Also pretty shocked that Manu didn't make it. Maybe his play seems to be a lot better than it really is because I'm a Jazz fan and he kills us, but he has pretty much been unstoppable this year in his 29-30 MPG. I just don't know who I would have subbed him for!
I do think in the East that two players should have gone to the game. I think both Gerald Wallace and Josh Smith should have made the team over both Antawn Jamison and Joe Johnson. I think overall, Smith is FAR more important to the Hawks than Joe is. Josh Smith has a HUGE effect on both sides of the floor, especially on D. Dude is also coming along nicely on the offensive end. Gerald Wallace has been unbelievable. The Bobcats may not have a great record, but they've been playing pretty well as of late. If Wallace isn't on that team, they are bottom dwellers. I think he deserves to be in too. Surprised neither of these guys have gotten much attention in the snub talk. Just my 2 cents.

Oh please, Greg Oden isn't ANYTHING yet, he hasn't played a single game how can you call him a franchise center?? Also that team has tons and tons of talent on it cause the majority of guys on the roster are lottery picks. And when was 19 and 5 "all-star numbers?" Deron Williams was incredible last year, proved his worth in the playoffs, improved again this year, and is still getting snubbed.
Franchise center as in their foundation for the future.
Answer my question. Did you expect Portland prior to the season to be in the playoff race at this time of the year?
Stop skewing his numbers. Try 19/4/5/46%. He's putting up better numbers than Hamilton and Johnson who also made the squad.

Deron sure deserved to be there over Brandon Roy. I'd seriously not utter one complaint if Baron was snubbed because Deron was chosen over him.
Deron is an elite point guard, Brandon is a 2-guard who got in because everybody was surprised at the Blazers record. Not because of his individual play and not because he was a superior player than the guys who were left out.

I get home and i see Baron not making it.
WOW SUBBED.. possibly the highest snubbed pick ever left off the nba all star game.
and for anyone that disagrees, give me some facts how in the world is Brandon Roy or David West above him in the selection... wow... just terrible.
(if u gonna give me, they have a good team; well guess what so do the warriors, top 8 team in the west and not 1 all star).

No I did not expect Portland to go on a ridiculous winning streak, but it has ended and they're fading like everyone thought they would.
And I'm not skewing the numbers, Deron had great numbers last year, backed it up with his playoff performances and has been snubbed, I'm not talking about Hamilton and Johnson (Deron is easily an all-star in the East) I'm talking about the West, Deron and Baron to an extent were clearly snubbed for a guy who is a "feel good story." Also bribery didn't help either..

Alright but ya'll crying like little girls over a 3 hour game.
I would like to see what u say if Kobe did not make it into the all star game(even reserves)
and it's not about the game, i actually will nto watch it, it's the recognize of a good season, when a player retires a lot of people see how many all star games have he played and some of them judge him by that.

Try being a fan of a team that doesn't have an all-sta for over ten years and then get back to me.
All these years guys like J-Rich didn't make it because we don't win, and now we're winning and we still get snubbed. It really starts to eat at you after a while.

Im from Portland, OR & I watch both the Warriors
and the Blazers. Ive seen many, many games of
Baron & Roy, as I stated on the Blazer Forum I
think Baron is a better player right now and the
Warriors have the better record. But as we all
know the reserves are voted by NBA coaches,
that should tell you something right there.. .
Coaches prefer players like Roy over Baron.
Now down the line in a few years im willing to
bet Roy will become better then Baron, but
thats not now. Right now Baron is a bit better.
Im a big Baron fan, hes got a sick game and
at times he can make you "daaaaamn" but at
the same time I can see why Roy was taken
over Baron and it has nothing to do with
any kind of conspiracy theorys!!
Anyway, I know it doesnt help right now but
just remember this Warriors fans, Baron
may not of gotten onto the All-Star team
but the Blazers probably wont make the
playoffs and the Warriors probably will!!
Go Blazers!!

The thing about Roy is that he is just as valuable to the Blazers as Davis is to Warriors. He is their only weapon on offense because he can penetrate, the Blazers shoot only jumpshots, Roy is the guy that gets them open looks.
The Blazers have also had a better record than the Warriors for a lot of the season as well, just because they are under now doesn't mean jack.

That's not the point. The point is that they are in the playoff race as of late January.
I brought up Hamilton and Johnson because you asked since "when were 19 and 5 All-Star numbers". It is more impressive that Roy is accomplishing all of this in the West where he regularly faces off against the elite teams often.
I agree Deron and Baron were deserving and it really could've went either way, but it seems like you're writing off Roy and his incredible sophomore jump. I had Davis as one of my wild card choices FWIW.
