This whole situation is very strange a few days after the hit he seemed fine and I think some media outlets where saying he would be back shortly as there was nothing physically wrong with him.

Its been like what a month and a half (guessing) and he doesn't sound like he wants to play at all...this is so unlike a typical athlete who wants to compete even with a fairly bad injury. If you ask me he is one similar hit or hard fall away from calling it quits.

Where else can a guy collect an eight-million a year salary (or, for that matter, a forty-thousand salary) while joking about maybe he'll be back tomorrow, maybe in a month -- anyone's guess! I don't want to minimize TJ's injury but I still think this is bizarre. The only explanation we have for his absence is that he doesn't feel ready. He's not saying that his doctor doesn't think he's ready, or the team doesn't think he's ready, or his psychologist doesn't think he's ready, or that john lucas doesn't think he's ready. He's goofin with chuck and saying that he, TJ, isn't ready. I didn't hear the interview -- did he at least sound remorseful for the fact that his teammates are busting their asses in a playoff drive and that he wasn't available to help? Did he say, I can't wait to get back, or it's killing me to be out, or i don't feel i'm earning my eight million a year, or anything of that nature?

I feel the exact same way ... I think many on this board are afraid to say it ... even the media is aftraid IMO because it's not politically correct. Just my opinion.

mad-mo wrote:looks like tj is just havin a little bit of fun and being really patient about his return and he should, knowin that everythin in toronto is goin well while jose is gettin the job done... so just kick back and let jose do his thing, tj will be back eventually and when he does it will just be better news

Thats what I kind of feel as well. TJ obviously wants to come back, and he will come back when he is ready no doubt. He probably thought that Jose and the Raptors were doing fine without him, so their is no real need to rush back. I think that when he comes back, not only will he will most likely be benched because he needs to get back into shape, he and Sam will probably drag out his return to the starter lineup as long as possible because Jose is doing so well. Again this is speculation here. You can see that he wants to come back, but him and BC being vague about everything related to him makes me feel their is some good ulterior motive in dragging out his return.

Now all we need is Garbo news and we are all set :D

Seems to me like they had the All-Star break as the set date.

TJ playing coy all the time is getting extremely old.

Hoop Talked About This

Paul Jones Talked with John Lucas and Lucas suggested T.J is VERY close to being ready to return. I think Raps would be wise to use a bit of the element of surprise despite it being annoying to the fans

Isn't that an appealing aspect of his glorious swagger? I wouldn't know, because I can't stand it either.

I think its pretty lame that he didn't give props to Jose. He acted completely oblivious to the success his teammate is having.

I don't see how even the most devout TJ supporter can overlook this.
