I gotta admit, Baron was snubbed. That guy is flat-out amazing. I'm a Blazer fan and Baron Davis is one of those players who just makes me nervous because he can take a game over at any time.
But, as a Blazer homer, I gotta defend my man, Roy.
The voting coaches saw what we Blazer fans have been seeing all year - Roy controls the game. His stats aren't flashy, but he makes everyone else better. We have a team of kids who (at this stage of their careers) are mostly mediocre. But when Nate put the ball in Roy's hands, everyone got better.
I'm not going to say that he deserves this more than Baron, Deron, or Manu. But don't disrespect the man. Don't blame this on ipods or "feel good stories." Roy doesn't put up huge stats, but it's amazing how he controls the court and his team.

dude just calm down, I made a joke about it because I thought you were being sarcastic, I didn't mean any harm by it or anything, im sorry if that means anything to you
and by the way, i actually rooted for T-Mac, so dont be so quick to judge

Blazer fan here,
few things. 1 I do believe that DWill/Davis should have gotten the nod over Brandon. But everyone bringing up stats are missing a few things. Brandon has a higher FG and FT % than Davis (however, Williams has an amazing FG% for a guard) and about 3 few shots/game. Williams and Davis also rack up the assists, but both Davis and Williams also amass more turnovers than Brandon as well. He has led the youngest team in the nba (and the 3rd youngest of all time) to a near division lead after being in the nba's gutter last season. Yes Williams and Davis should have gotten the nod, and it probably would have been more exciting for the average nba fan to watch either of those two, but you can't take anything away from what B Roy has done to the franchise. He too deserves it, I guess the coaches thought he deserved it more. In a perfect world all 3 would be in.
P.S. Roy with zero techs/flagrants, Baron with 6, Williams with 2. Thats our good boyscout. Maybe thats 6 more coaches that would have voted for Mr. Davis?

Besides, seeing how the NBA has been having a hard-on for Roy all year long, its no surprise that Baron got the shaft. Hype always wins. And Roy has the hype machine working overtime billing him as the next big thing.
I hope this ignites the Warriors and they f'in kill every team that comes their way from hereon. Bad Snub.
And HOW THE F A DPYO CANDIDATE not get a spot on the AllStar team?? Thats messed.
Maybe once Hedo and Jose sign a max contract, they'll get the recognition over an undeserving max player like JJ..

I just want to clarify everything I said in this thread. All I meant with everything was that in my opinion i didn't think calderon was an all star. In my opinion, I don't think he deserved it, and I gave my reasons, said my piece, I think hes a good player and I never trashed the Raptors. There a good team and I root for them usually, so anything taken out of context I'm sorry. I gave my opinion, but whatever, I'll stop.

Im from Portland, OR & I watch both the Warriors
and the Blazers. Ive seen many, many games of
Baron & Roy, as I stated on the Blazer Forum I
think Baron is a better player right now and the
Warriors have the better record. But as we all
know the reserves are voted by NBA coaches,
that should tell you something right there.. .
Coaches prefer players like Roy over Baron.
Now down the line in a few years im willing to
bet Roy will become better then Baron, but
thats not now. Right now Baron is a bit better.
Im a big Baron fan, hes got a sick game and
at times he can make you "daaaaamn" but at
the same time I can see why Roy was taken
over Baron and it has nothing to do with
any kind of conspiracy theorys!!
Anyway, I know it doesnt help right now but
just remember this Warriors fans, Baron
may not of gotten onto the All-Star team
but the Blazers probably wont make the
playoffs and the Warriors probably will!!
Go Blazers!!
I see your rationale, but it's frustrating to be a team/player that's called a fluke despite several great games, when a team/player has a couple of decent ones against east teams, and the media suddenly thinks they're the next great ones.
Plus, all of the analysts and experts had Baron ahead of Roy in their player rankings and ASG lists (that shows a lot on what people asides from the coaches see.) Baron not only puts up flashy stats, but he provides tough defense (ask Kobe and Wade), intensity, passion, leadership, and showmanship to a crowd, something that can't be measued in ANY stat.

I still myself can't understand how Roy makes it over B Diddy. Roy is a upper role player and not an all star. His stats are not impressive at all. And to say Portland is a good team is crazy. Think about it if the playoffs started today they would be swept easily. Now B Diddy shows heart and compassion and puts the stats up from the past and present to back his case up.
