LMAO for people who make multiple millions a year, I hardly see how you can say an ipod with B Roy highlights on it could be considered a bribe.

ESPN and SI have to make up stories somehow. There isn't usually much news before the deadline so these writers have to look for something to write on. I guess this just signifies that there aren't any trade rumors right now.

The IRoy story is a joke, its just a crutch that the ignorant and fans with bias use to explain Davis not making the all-star. Im not gonna argue that Davis didn't have an All-Star worthy season because that is subjective and frankly the west is so stacked that someone always gets the short end. I might be seeing this in homer shades but IMO Roy got the nod over Davis by the coaches because they saw how far Roy has brought the blazers from where maybe they should have been.

The iRoy was all about promotion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Kudos to our marketing team.

Somebody dig up the article that said Roy only won rookie of the year because of his Roy for ROY Leatherman tool. Lmao people need some type of injustice to rationalize their favorite player not making the All Star team.

playing the devil's advocate, you could certainly make the case that Baron Davis was as deserving of a spot as Roy, perhaps more. But as Clint said "deserves got nuthin to do with it"

The coaches make the call, and I think it's clear that Davis isn't going to be a popular choice with several.

And it's also true that Roy is the beneficiary of a 'feel good' blazer story this season. And I'm sure the league loves putting forward a personality like roy to represent the league to offset, the rodmans, resheeds, & artests that have tarnished the image. Roy is like a spur without the boring.

So good for Roy, and major haha's to the GS fans going ballistic in 3 or 4 threads tonight.

Of course with 2 games at Golden State in march, roy and the blazers may be in for some long nights.

Also in the Roy v Davis debate, you have to look at both teams collective talent and record. Roy has FAR less to work with than Davis and up until very recently, Portland had the better record. Even now GS is not that far ahead.

Congrats to Roy. He deserved it.

First, the campaign for any of the PG's being more worthy can be stopped with that Roy is a SG. As for the shooting guards, Manu and Howard are good, but neither would have taken the Blazers to as many wins this year as Roy has.

Really, that goes for any of the guards that got left off. Baron, Tony, Deron, Manu, or Howard would not have led this team like Brandon. I would speculate though that all of the other teams would have performed as good if not better with Brandon.

Blame the coaches, but I think they got it right.

Has anybody ever seen Baron Davis play??

I think a lot of people are underestimating the talent of B.D. here. Mad props to Roy, he deserves recognition for his accomplishments this year in our team's turnaround, but surely people saw last years playoffs with GS against Dallas, or even this year! There aren't many players more explosiveness or talented than Baron.

Sorry to be such a downer Blazer fan, but I gotta be realistic here. Let's not forget that the other considerations for the ASG were just as deserving.

Agree with Wizen, Roy is on the receiving end of quite a few benefits (good-guy image, NBA's need for good representation, feel-good team of the year, etc.) but dude deserved it.

Here's to hoping that we grab DH and Bass this weekend!

Literally laughed out loud at that. :D Classic.

And seriously, they should offer iRoys on the Blazers' site. Maybe add a black and red decal. I'd sure as hell buy one!

Im a HUGE Davis fan, and have been since he was with the Hornets. I do believe that he should have made the team, but not over any of the guards that are currently on there. West should not be on there PERIOD. The last 2 spots are wildcards and didnt need to be a forward or center, and it should have been Davis. Unfortunately, the coaches didnt agree.

Whats getting annoying is the GSW fans trying to more or less bash Roy because He averages 3 less points and 2.5 less Assists yet made it over him. Its just getting pathetic. If the games were just played on stats, Al Jefferson would have been in there over a lot of other players. Theres a lot more to both of their games besides what the Warriors fans want to throw out there.

BTW... Welcome to the boards blazerbasketbal. It gets addicting quickly. My girlfriend hates that I'm on here all the time, but then I've caught her checking them out herself when I wasnt looking

All of the haters are so annoying, so annoying that I question why I even get on here and bother reading their comments. I don't think I could type this icon enough :violin: I mean get the **** over it. If I cared enough I could prove that Roy deserved it more, but it just takes too much effort... and I will never see or know any of them, thus... waste of time. It's just funny...

I know one thing though, David West is not an allstar. I bet McMillan voted for him though, the way he plays us.

Thanks for the welcome Fitz, it's much appreciated. Definitely addictive, it's 1:00am and I've got a cell molec midterm tomorrow morning, so I feel you. Agree with you on all the points you made, I'm definitely not trying to bash on Roy, but with all the anti-Baron sentiment I figured I should throw in my two cents.

Been reading posts for awhile now, but the reason I signed up was because I didn't see much appreciation for players/teams outside of the Blazers. Granted, this is a Blazers forum but there needs to be a poster that can bring everyone down to earth once in awhile. I guess you can call me more of a fan of basketball than a fan of the Blazers.

Roy Wonder indeed! Wow. And so great that he got it on before Zach comes to town tonight.
