That team might win 75 games. Odom is the 4 option here, matter of fact we could even bring him off the bench and start Ariza. If Memphis does this trade he better sell the team because everyone in the NBA will hate him.

Let that team play 82 next year, count on Farmar being better next year, Bynum too, it just won't be fair. It's too good to be true so I'm not gonna get my hopes up, if it happens great, if it doesn't...I still like our chances with the current lineup.

A team looking to cut salary wouldnt wanna add Luke's 5 year deal...

Odom, Kwame, first rounder for Gasol, Cardinal and Darko

They drop the long term salaries of Darko and Cardinal for Kwame's expiring and Odom's shorter deal... We get the guy thats gonna take us over the top

Buyout Cardinal.. and Ship Darko off this summer to whoever wants him... For the rest of the season we have

Dealing Turiaf might be too painful, even if it meant stealing Gasol. I want him to retire a Laker almost as much as I want Kobe and Bynum to retire Lakers. Heck, if he was the sticking point, I'd offer Memphis as many picks as permitted (3 1st rounders I think) to keep him. I love the guy that much, and I know the team and the city does too.

That said, everyone else is on the table. If we could do Kwame, Sasha, Critt and a pick for Pau, I'd be all over it. If they wanted to expand the deal to include Odom and a bad contract, I'd be cool with that too

Unfortuantely, we had our chance (twice) and we blew it. No chance we can get anyone close to Marion for Odom with the way he's been playing lately.

If they want Odom in the deal I'm totally fine with that.

Gasol's a huge upgrade for our team.

If they don't want Odom's contract on the other hand, we'd need to immidiately trade him for a legit SF.

I don't care if its Marion, AK47, whatever. We need someone who can gaurd SF's.

The more I think about this, a Kwame/Sasha/Critt/1st deal for Pau and Navarro works beautifully for both teams, if Memphis is indeed looking to shed salary. Kwame and Sasha are more than $10M off the books, and Critt and the 1st are nice rebuilding pieces. For us, Pau steps right in and becomes the second option in Drew's absence. We run a lineup of Fish/Kobe/Vlad/Odom/Pau till March. When Drew and Ariza come back, ideally Phil relegates Odom to the bench and we go Fish/Kobe/Ariza/Pau/Bynum. With Farmar, Odom, Mihm, Luke, Ronny, Navarro and Mbenga off the bench, who would we lose to in a 7-game series?

We have that guy. His name's Trevor Ariza. Odom's not gonna get us anything of value this season. Hopefully in the summer, when his contract is an expiring, we'll be able to move him for someone that can help us.
