Ready to get bashed. Dallas, Orlando, Sacramento
Dallas trades: Jason Terry, Deveon George, 3 mil cash, 2 1st round picks
Dallas gets: Ron Artest, SAR
Dallas gets Artest by absorbing SAR, giving cash, losing Terry, & 2008 1st round pick and conditional 2010 1st.
Orlando trades: Keyon Dooling, Carlos Arroyo
Orlando gets: Jason Terry
Orlando upgrades in talent by using expirings
Sacramento trades: Ron Artest, SAR
Sacramento gets: Expirings (Arroyo, Dooling, George), 3 mil cash to help buy out Arroyo, 2008 1st and conditional 2010 1st via Dallas
Sacramento uses Artest to shed SAR and pick up 2 1st round picks
NOTE 1: 2010 conditional pick is either Artest does not opt out or agrees to extention
NOTE 2: SAR can be switched to Kenny Thomas, but George would HAVE to be switched to Trenton Hassell
After Arroyo is bought out, Dallas attempts to sign him with our MLE to be our backup PG.

I don't believe Artest is worth cap relief and 2 first round picks, even late ones. He has issues with his knees, he was ejected in Utah for behavior, and he may walk from SAC (or any team that trades for him) in four months. This would be a dangerous acquisition for DAL, who's generally tried to acquire citizens. The deal could already saves the Kings about $25 mil.
I don't believe ORL needs to add anything to Terry. He's been a productive scorer, but he is what he is .. a SG in a PG's body. He's 30, and he's on a deal that pays him about $50 mil through 2012.
If DAL wants to gamble on Artest, I like the combination of teams you put together, but I think with Ron's history, even though the 1sts are late, that's overpaying. The financial benefits alone should be plenty.

All the more reason to do THIS trade.HotSpurs21 wrote:Is Artest worth ruining the chemistry Dallas have?
Getting Kidd might be a better idea than this
I'd MUCH, MUCH, infinitesimally much more prefer this lineup:
Damp/Diop
Dirk/Bass
Artest/George (or Hassell)
Howard/Stackhouse
Harris/Arroyo
With options of 11th & 12th men of Jones, Juwan, & Barea
than this lineup:
Damp/??? (Maglorie, Diop, nobody pending on trade)
Nowitzki/Juwan
Howard/Hassell
Jones/Ager
Kidd/Terry
I mean, Harris, at his ripe old age of 25, out produces Kidd (35 in 2 months) in every catagory you can think of including offensive effeciency, +/-, any of the regular stats...except Rebounds (which would not be all that important in Dallas) and assists. Then add in the fact that we need a quicker PG in a division with Chris Paul and Tony Parker, conference with Nash, & Ellis. Trading Harris for Kidd would go down as one of the all time blunders in Mavs history.

Once again, not interested unless KT is involved. This is the contract that needs to move with Artest. If you want to include Hassell to get it done, be my guest, but KT, NOT SAR, needs to go.
And please, this goes to EVERYONE, do NOT include SAR/Moore as a 'dumping' piece in an ARTEST trade and make it look like you're doing the Kings some type of favor by 'absorbing' salary. Both these players can and have the ability to play. There is only ONE contract that is bad on the Kings and that is Kenny Thomas. HE is the piece that moves with Artest, PERIOD. HE is the crutch of a rebuilding process in Sacramento(thus the disdain he has in Sacramento).
Every Artest deal BEGINS AND ENDS with KT moving out with him(and NOT for likes of Radmanovic either) we're talking ENDERS.

ROFL! I question whether Mike Bibby is even worth his $14 mil/year contract, and you want Devin Harris, TWO first rounders, AND to have someone eat Kenny Thomas' deal?
These are the type of comments that make me hope that when the few teams seeking a PG find them, SAC gets stuck standing at the the end of that musical chairs game. Eat the $28 mil, and see how your greed and homerism tastes.
.....your in the wrong thread. Neither Mike Bibby or Devin Harris are traded in this thread.........

If the biggest Kings homer and the biggest Mavs home can agree on this trade, then I think we need to call up our "real GMs" and get this one done with Hassell and Thomas.Smills91 wrote:Once again, not interested unless KT is involved. I'm glad to see posative responses.

Apparently I'm the biggest homer because someone thinks Mike Bibby and Devin Harris were in this trade?
