i love when people from other teams come onto the board, find a comment they dislike and go to work on it...i'll never understand why any of you guys do it...General Board is one thing...but the teams personal board is different...well as always, good luck to that/those fans trying to push a boulder up hill as if it's going to change the price of rice around here...

1. gilbert to the wizards is not dwight to the magic.
2. without dwight, the magic have no interior defense, no rebounding.
3. without dwight, the three point shooters do not have a field day.
4. what does arenas give the wizards besides offensive production?
5. does he make his teammates better?
6. is he the anchor of defense?

only 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists shy of yet another triple double - anonymous

They're close, but Jamison has an edge. He's averaging 21 points 10 rebounds. Hedo's production is well shy of that, isn't it? (It's 19 and 6, plus 4 assists. Jamison averages 2 assists.)So my conclusion is that Hedo is more deserving because: 1) Hedo's role in Orlando's wins is greater on than Jamison's contributions to Wash's wins (so even if ORL and WASH had the same record, Hedo's production is better); and 2) Orlando has more wins thus Hedo's contribution has been even greater.
Your first bolded statement there is problematic. See above. But,
1. I can't see this conclusion. The Magic have two other legitimate scoring options (Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard). The Wizards only have one (Caron Butler). Jamison gets more defensive attention and has to produce more of the offense.
2. I guess I should express my view that a 3 game lead is not that significant. It's actually 3.5 games at the moment, but the Magic have also played 3 more games than the Wizards. In the last 30 games or so, the Wizards have a better record than the magic.
What I want to ask you, here, is this: If your best player got injured (Dwight Howard for you, Gilbert Arenas for me) in week two, would Hedo be having such a good season? Or would he get more defensive pressure and shoot lower percentages? Would this translate to fewer wins for the Magic?
The Wizards lost their best player, and yet they are still on the heels of you guys for 1st place in the Southeast. Why? Because Jamison and Butler have stepped up their game to compensate, which isn't easy to do.
1) Hedo scores more efficiently (better FG, 3 pt and FT %) and I refer back to the 4th quarter numbers, which is a significant point in Hedo's favor.
2) I'd suggest that Jamison doesn't really get that much more defensive attention than Hedo. Jamison plays quite a lot on the perimeter. How many teams double him on the perimeter? My guess is not that many.
3) The Arenas issue is a tricky one. I've seen multiple times within the last few seasons that a team's best player goes down but the team plays better, to the extent that the other players are in a better position, not a worse one. The Magic have seen that after Francis was traded. Considering the large number of games the Wiz have played without Gil, I think its fair to conclude that not only is Arenas' absence not hurting Jamison, its actually helping him. So IMO Jamison's All Star bid shouldn't be bolstered by Gil's absence.
4) 3.5 games is significant to me, especially considering the Magic's crazy schedule thus far: road and back-to-back heavy.

wow this is getting ridiculous. I actually brought up the arenas issue, but with arenas gone, you guys still have solid point guard play. arenas is just an offensive killer, but right now you guys are better defensively because he's gone, and the offence is still decent. on the other hand losing a big guy like howard IS NOTHING compared to losing a guard. the magic don't even have any other real big men...if howard was gone, hedo's numbers would definitely go up but the magic would start to lose more games. so your logic is flawed...
as for the guy claiming jameson has a stats edge, it's 4 rebs versus 3 assists difference. I'll take the 3 assists any day. the points per MINUTE is the same, and hedo shoots better in every category.
and wow I didn't know hedo had the most 4th Q points after those two people...JUST WOW.

I have no problem with Jamison, he is on the same level with Hedo this year. I just have a problem with JJ making it. I know its a position thing, but still it sucks.

Arenas is a REALLY good Jameer Nelson, or a poor-man's Allen Iverson. None of those three can win games on their own.
Howard cannot yet; but a dominant big is far more valuable than a very good (& not great) scoring PG.
Thus, I agree that Arenas for the Wiz is not Howard for the Magic.

But I checked around, and I'm curious if anyone is willing to make an argument that Hedo is having a better season than Jamison (who seems to be the target of a certain amount of animosity around these parts). On a statistical basis, it's hard.
I know there are X-factors, and you guys mention that Orlando has a three-game lead on Washington. The Wizards have played almost the entire season without their All-NBA point guard. I believe (as do most of us Wizards fans) that it's a credit to both Butler and Jamison that we're only three games back without the aforementioned All-NBA point guard in the line-up. I think the X-factors are a wash, at best.
I know that, in the past, All-Star spots have been awarded more frequently to first-place teams, but aside from that, is anyone willing to argue that Hedo is more deserving? If not, that's fine. I won't camp butt into your threads anymore.
If it was based on stats than shouldn't Baron have made the West over Roy?

Yeah. Point taken. But in my defense, I was just surprised by the general sentiment here among magic fans (Jamison undeserving, should break his ankle) and asked whether people felt that way because they for emotional or rational reasons. The comments I "went to work on" were directed at me, as far as I can tell.

Last season he was All-NBA second team. That means he is, more or less, a top 10 player in the NBA.
That's all. I myself wouldn't care if a Magic fan came to argue a point on the Wizards board, but that's me. I was only trying to provide a different perspective (from someone not in love with Hedo Turkoglu). Take it easy, guys.

well my statement is for anyone...Magic fan or anyone else...its just laughable to me...it's like going to someones hood, hearing a comment you dislike and putting yourself out in the middle of the street taking on all of the residents...more power to ya...but i think it's useless myself...no one ever listens and the visitors get even more frustrated and it usually results in a thread on their board...

I'm getting a little bored with your non-stop Hedo rants.
Especially the ones that don't even make no goddaaaarn sense.
What, should I have replied to you with ''wow at anyone who seriously didn't thought he should/would make the all-star team.'' ?
No, that's ignorant, shows that I'm not open minded and pretty subjective.
Lots of people thought Hedo should or would make the All-star team, Chris Bosh, Barkley and A LOT more credible people, Magic fans...other fans. People have opinions you know, and just cause their opinions about Hedo doesn't suit you, there's no need for you to act like a playa hata.
