I think Frye is an overall better player than Bass, but he duplicates LMA's game and they dont make a good bigmen tandem. Both LMA and Outlaw would mesh well with Oden, what we need is a PF who could play alongside LMA at center. I think Bass is this guy, he's tougher than Frye, I dont care about the RPG numbers, I think he's better than both LMA and Frye at securing the DREB. And on the open court, both Bass and LMA are very athletic and could flourish. Not to mention that Bass is a better low post threat than both LMA and Frye.

I say keep both Outlaw and Webster. Wer'e holding the cards here, would love to see a deal made if it is for Frye, Jack and Sergio, but if not - there would come other options by draft time.

Where did Bucher report that it changed to Webster and Sergio? I could definitely see that as KP demanding that instead of Outlaw and Thorn holding out because he feels he can do better.......

I read in another forum that Bucher said that last night on an espn 'news' broadcast, possibly a quick report on sportscenter

If that was the package I would throw all of our picks in there.

I cant see Pritchard trading Sergio or Outlaw.
Especially since yesterday Pritchard talked
about Rudy & how Sergio will help him adjust.

I said in a couple of other threads that I think all of these 'leaks' are coming out of the NJ front office, so what we're hearing are the Net's versions of offers, and perhaps exaggerated versions as well.

We haven't heard KP's response which was probably along the lines of 'pound it through your porthole'

It seems like we have the most leverage of the three teams to hold out for what we want. (With the Lakers adding Gasol, Dallas could make a desperation move.) Anyway, what's the best looking trade that works under the cap?

Basically, I see KP less attached to Martell and Jack, since they weren't really his draft picks. Even though we picked Travis up long before KP, I'm guessing that he's a KP guy since he re-signed him this off-season.

Under some of the posted scenarios, we give up Martell, Jack, LaFrenz and possibly a draft pick. Going forward with one of those trades, I love our rotation:

Harris, Roy, James Jones, LA and Oden starting.
Blake, Rudy, Outlaw, Frye and Przybilla leading the white unit.
Sergio somehow mixing in for 15 mpg. (I'll leave that to Nate.)

Still young, still deep, still flexible.

I must say, that is a great looking rotation. Plus we free up roster spots. And if Miles is actually ready to play in the NBA again, it should open up some minutes for him as well.

Frankly I don't think the Nets aren't going to get all that much in a trade for Kidd. Here's my contribution:

Dallas trades:

Devin Harris
Salary: $3,995,003 Years Remaining: 6
PTS: 14.4 REB: 2.3 AST: 5.3 PER: 18.66

Trenton Hassell
Salary: $4,350,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 2.3 REB: 1.2 AST: 0.8 PER: 6.02

Keith VanHorn s+t at $7.5 million

2008 1st to New Jersey-top 3 protected

Dallas receives:

Jason Kidd
Salary: $19,728,000 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 11.3 REB: 8.1 AST: 10.4 PER: 16.17

Dallas really can't afford to trade any of Stackhouse, Terry or Dampier if they want to remain competitive. The haven't renounced VanHorn yet so he can be included in the trade and get a nice paycheck for nothing.

New Jersey trades:

Jason Kidd
Salary: $19,728,000 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 11.3 REB: 8.1 AST: 10.4 PER: 16.17

Malik Allen
Salary: $770,610 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 5.7 REB: 2.9 AST: 0.7 PER: 10.25

New Jersey receives:

Travis Outlaw
Salary: $4,000,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 13.0 REB: 5.0 AST: 1.4 PER: 17.40

Jarrett Jack
Salary: $1,217,400 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 9.1 REB: 2.7 AST: 3.6 PER: 12.13

Raef LaFrentz
Salary: $12,440,787 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 1.9 REB: 1.6 AST: 0.2 PER: 12.94

Keith VanHorn s+t at $7.5 million (actual prorated salary of $3.5 million)

2008 1st from Dallas-top 3 protected

2008 1st from Portland- top 3 protected

$3 million cash from Portland

The Nets don't need Stackhouse or Hassel or Dampier or any of the other large contracts Dallas has. VanHorn only costs them $3.5 million, 3 of which Portland covers. They get two good young players and two picks. LaFrentz gives them a large expiring contract next year.
Portland trades:

Travis Outlaw
Salary: $4,000,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 13.0 REB: 5.0 AST: 1.4 PER: 17.40

Jarrett Jack
Salary: $1,217,400 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 9.1 REB: 2.7 AST: 3.6 PER: 12.13

Raef LaFrentz
Salary: $12,440,787 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 1.9 REB: 1.6 AST: 0.2 PER: 12.94

2008 1st to New Jersey- top 3 protected

Trenton Hassell
Salary: $4,350,000 Years Remaining: 3
PTS: 2.3 REB: 1.2 AST: 0.8 PER: 6.02

Malik Allen
Salary: $770,610 Years Remaining: 1
PTS: 5.7 REB: 2.9 AST: 0.7 PER: 10.25

We get our PG of the future without giving up too many young players. Hassell finally ends up here.

Village, nice Idea with VanHorn and I do agree that is a more likely scenario with KVH as Dallas does not have to then trade guys they need. However, the ONE thing I do not see is us including Outlaw, I could see Jack and Frye and and an outside chance at Webs, but not TO. My take
