I feel like we are potential middle men for a lot of deals to happen due to the expirings we have. Any trade involving Memphis could in some way land us Stromile Swift and not involve Pau at all. I would still be very happy.

Just wishful thinking.

if you can get gasol, you must try to...the guy is a perfect pf to have next to dwight...he can do it all...front court of howard, gasol, lewis would be nasty...but i dont think we can get him with expirings, and otis wont dangle hedo...

Funny thing is, looking at the two teams, that trade worked out best for Toronto...

well yea, it may have...but price wise who ever receives Pau will probably be happy with their decision and sacrifice...

This is one deal that I would include Hedo in. I don't think we get Pau for expiring contracts alone, even if it had multiple draft picks included. I got to believe that there would be a better package out there for them. As far as Gasol being a good fit with Dwight, it doesn't get much better than that. A pf that can take his man away from the basket and one with range like that, would be a great fit.

Why would they want Hedo? He is not a rebuilding asset. He is 28, in his prime and still has years left on his contract. He is also not a first option and they have Rudy Gay at his position.

Damm they just gave him away. We didnt have that one large expiring contract that Memphis was looking for. First Swift and now Gasol. Miller next? We should go after him.

Gasol Traded to Lakers

The Commercial Appeal has learned that the Grizzlies have traded Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers for center Kwame Brown, rookie guard Javaris Crittenton and first-round draft picks in 2008 and 2010.

** Stro Swift will be traded officially to NJ on Monday**
Also today, a Grizzlies source said that forward Stromile Swift has been traded to the New Jersey Nets for center Jason Collins.

The Grizzlies and Nets have been discussing a deal for the past week, and it is expected to be finalized on Monday.
