But now memphis has Conley, Lowry, and Critteton... I would definately be intrigued by either Lowry or Critteton...

The Lakers are stacked now with Kobe, Odom, and Gasol and when Bynum gets back they will be insane, damn I hate the Lakers...I was hoping the Sixers would find a way to get Gasol.

Man... that's really a terrible return for Gasol... A lot of us were hoping for the same thing for Andre Miller minus the first rounders. This tells me that those hopes were way too high, since Gasol is much more valuable than Miller...

That is a big blow for us. Seriously. If the Clippers do not want to trade Brand we are still doomed.

Gasol didnt want to be there and they didnt want him. Lowered his value. Same deal for us like AI last year. I on going on the record that Odom will be traded in some deal to bring Kidd to the Lakers now. If they can swindle Gasol from Memphis that garbage then they can get Kidd.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

This deal makes me sick. Memphis is my hometown team!! This is not a good swap. I love crit, but we already have conely and lowry. Unless ivaroni is planning to play crit at the 2, i dont see why we have so many young points when we need a vet.

Now that I think about it, how long before we see a Kobe-Gasol hissy fit?

Damn, we could have offered up something better than that. Those first rounders will be in the late 20s. About equal to the package we got for Iverson, really.

Anyways, Lakers are gonna be tough to beat at full strength:

Fisher
Kobe
Odom (although I think its 50/50 that he goes before the deadline)
Gasol
Bynum

and a decent bench.

Also, looks like Memphis is gonna be a player in FA this summer. Still, I think they got fleeced on both of the deals they made today. Jason Collins is :(

Great trade for Memphis. They recognized that Gasol wasn't good enough to be a focal point of a Franchise so they dumped him to officially rebuild. Good move.

Dude, WTF!!! How couldnt we give up more than that? Do not get this trade at all for Memphis. They dont get anything except Cap space, and Crittendon wont even play. Come on ED, what the hell

We did not have the expiring contract which the Grizz desired. Under that circumstances I highy doubt that we could have offered a better deal without giving up our core players and Young. I assume that the Grizz did not wanted to wait for the offseason. That is devastating because we would have already cleared out our cap space and we would have had more chips to trade with.

That said, the Lakers got a hell of a trade. Boston and LA are now both legitimate contenders and we are stinking. That is a hard time for a Sixer fan.

We didn't have a 10M expiring to give them... Looks like they wanted cap relief more than anything- likely so they can get another FA this summer. We certainly could have offered similar young talent and a much more valuable pick.

I guess this shows how we could steal a good player this summer given we will have both a big expiring contracvt (Miller) and capspace (a trade exemption.) Now we justhave to hope that the right big man becomes available. its a shame Gasol couldn't have stayed on the Grizz until this summer...

Right. I believe this is the way Stephanski is thinking according to his statements. I do not see Stephanski even offering Josh Smith a contract.

How the hell did the Lakers get away with that one?

A legit all star big traded for an expiring contract, a mid first round pick last year, and a couple of crappy future late 1st round draft picks?

Something doesn't add up here...
