WTF? Don't tell me Memphis couldn't get anything better than Kwame, Critt and two first rounders... That's not even a steal for the lakers, it's the fricking crime of the decade!

1. one wonders whether jerry west had anything to do with this wonderlicious trade for the lakers.
2. first kevin mchale paying his dues to the celtics.
3. now, west?
4. with the addition of gasol and the removal of brown, the lakers all of a sudden become much more relevant for the western conference.
only 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists shy of yet another triple double - anonymous

Well we didnt have that one large expiring like Brown is. We do have expirings but we would have to combine them making the trade more complicated. From Memphis standpoint, it was alot easier to take on what the Lakers were giving.

I don't believe it. Seriously. Nobody could be stupid enough to own one of the most wanted big men in the league and trade him only for that because they want to rebuild. They could get the picks, a good role player and still plenty of capspace with expirings., yet they go with a prospect PG to add to their already 2 good prospects at that position, 9 millions expiring and 2 first rounders from a team that will probably be in the high 20's* in the draft? That's just plain stupid.

brown is only a $9m expiring, we could have done that, and sent picks...the only thing we didnt have was that one young, promising talent like Crittenton...JJ is young and he has talent...but probably not what they wanted...

Yeah, makes you wonder. We could have offered an identical package. Only difference being that Kwame is 10mil in just one contract, whereas we'd have to trade 3 players to Memphis to accomplish the same number. Maybe they didn't want to cut more than 1 person or something. And Ctittenton is probably a better overall prospect than JJ. Or maybe Otis just "likes this team". We'll never know.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

well considering that Memphis has an undermanned roster as is, adding a few players to = the $9m expiring worth wouldnt have been that god awful...hell it's not even like they were worried about taking on another PG, they have 4 now, 3 of which are young sky's the limit type guys...

Seriously. That would at least relieve us from the pain of watching other teams get steals like the Lakers got in Gasol.

Not that i completely disagree with you but how are we gonna get a big guard better than him specially since Mem is giving players away?

Yeah I'm sure they were re-tooling too when they asked Nocioni AND Deng up until a couple weeks ago. Suddenly they decide to go for cap relief.

BS.
