i said it on the nuggets board a couple seconds ago... you guys made an unbelievable trade. how much must the front office of the grizzlies suck to accept something like this. when i first saw this i thought you traded odom or something like this. but all your good players are still on the team. you gave up a bastard like kwame who isn't able to do anything on the court and 2 first round picks which are worth nothin because you aren't a lottery team.

i'm so pissed that you guys traded garbage for an all-star. i'm sooo pissed denver didn't do that trade... but hey... denvers office sucks. very VEEERY high congrats to you guys. i think you are in a very good position right now :-?

I know Gasol wanted more of the offense to go
thru him & that was one reason why he asked
to be traded, im just wondering how long hes
going to stay quiet because hes going to be
facing the same thing as a Laker, haha!!

Winning cures all. Pau will probably be the model citizen.

How does this trade match up with the Garnett to Boston?

Sounds like Mitch worked (convinced) this trade as opposed to conspiring with his buddy.

Something tells me this trade wouldn't have happened if Webber signed with the Lakers. Before Mitch did this trade, you have to remember, we kept Smush as our starting PG for two whole seasons, kept Kwame, kept, Mihm, etc etc. I'll bet the mindset of our dear ol' Mitch would have been, "Webber is proven, he can really help us out this season, I have done my job."

Or maybe I'm completly wrong! Haha! It doesn't matter!

LAkers did not mortgage their future. They gave up Crittenon and a couple draft picks which will be very late.

Odom, Kobe, Bynum and Gasol are all relatively young, this team is better than the Celtics.

Artest is just a horrible idea. He wants touches. Odom's a much better option than him. Artest would be a detriment to the team as a 4th option, IMO.

For the people claiming Pau is soft and not a top 5 pf in this league, I disagree. Pau has gotten a lot of crap for being a soft big, but look at his running mates. Pau has never had the help he needed in the front court. The list of Memphis bigs he played with is sad: Lo Wright, Jake Tsakalidas, Stro Swift, Hakeem Warrick, Brian Cardinal, and the softest of them all Darko Milicic. These guys are decent players but they're all clearly bench players.

I'm guessing there were a plethora of factors for Gasol wanting out... the losing, talking to kobe in the offseason, his desire to get onto a team that wants to win now, the idiot front office signing Darko right after he dissed Gasol in the papers, and probably his general dislike for Darko after his "rape" interview in the qualifiers... OK well I probably made up Gasol's dislike for Darko, but you got to speculate because Gasol has a lot of reasons to hate a guy like that.

It's a shame we couldn't get JCN too.

Oh and I disagree with all of you about Kwame, I think when he's healthy he's a very solid role player. I think it would be a genius move to sign Kwame in the offseason. Kwame is one of the best man defenders in the league and to have him as a bench guy playing 10-15 minutes behind Bynum would ideal for a championship push.

Wow, what news to wake up to! Congrats Mitch, you did it.

Now when can we expect to see Gasol play? I'm assuming not tonight, and I'm also assuming Kwame will not be playing?

Great move. Congrats Laker fans. I would have only given up one 1st round pick, but with Gasol you may not need them for the next few seasons.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
