This reminds me of another team that made a trade near the deadline that we coincidentally played against last night and lost to three years ago in the Finals.
Team? Detroit Pistons
Player they got? SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED
Achievement? NBA CHAMPSSS
Sounds like a similar move to me.
Another deadline move I remember.
2001 Sixers
Player - Mutombo
Achievement - NBA Finals
And more ironically, we faced against both teams in those finals years.

Much thanks to all the visiting posters who have been very classy. Cheers to all of you.
Please, no more using the word "rape" to describe trades.
Well, it was a edit for both deals this year.
I was jumping up and down on both deals because I wanted both of those guys on the team.
I was ranting all summer. **** ARTEST AND WALLACE, GET ARIZA!!
And saying Gasol is more a team player and less a superstar like KG and JO. He'll fit in well with Kobe and the team. He doesnt carry a big ego like KG or JO.
In brief, I describe both deals as edit.
Players we wanted to lose last offseason? Cook, Evans, Kwame
Players we lost this season? Cook, Evans, Kwame
As Trixx's signature says
Kobe: Do Something, Do It NOW
Mitch: Done
*referring to trades as rape is not acceptable

For the non-spanish speakers, this was about a rumor in 2004 that would have sent Shaq to memphis for Gasol. But still a good picture of Gasol in a Lakers uniform.
As my previous post in this topic showed, we basically did pull off a Gasol for Shaq trade. Hahaha.
