projected to be late 1st round and 2nd round picks. So, I guess if they the Bucks are serious about adding talent and depth through the draft, they should either offer to buy picks (ala Portland) or they should try to trade down if any one team ends up having multiple late firsts. Here are a few players that could help us:
Darren Collison - I think we are all aware of what he brings.
Brandon Rush - We need a swingman badly, and Rush provides spot up shooting, good athleticism, good defense, and good size.
Nathan Jawai - I guess the RealGm post on him made me a believer. I would love to see the Bucks take a flyer on this guy, if they have multiple picks around his projected spot. That kind of strength and size is exactly what we need, along with the physical play that he is said to bring. The Aussie connection wouldn't hurt.
DJ White - I think he is a little underrated. He could have a nice career as a Haslem type. High post jumper, rebounder and blocker, garbage man.
If we get a top 3 pick, of course take Rose. If we are lottery but out of the top three, I'd rather trade down if possible and address depth. Or, trade the pick for a proven NBA player. Who knows which underclassmen will come out, but from what I've seen, none of them look all that ready.
I'm going to add Richard Hendrix and Tyler Smith to the list. Devon Hardin, Ty Lawson, Hasheem Thabeet as well.
Here is why. This is why if the Bucks get a lotto pick that isn't top 3, and these draft position projections last, it would be best to trade down for additional late 1st round picks, if possible. I'd also like to see the Bucks try to buy late 1st rounders (ala Portland).
These PAWS stats transfer very well to the NBA, if the player is drafted into a situation in which their type is needed. From that list, Beasley will be unavailable, Love and Hansbrough (who reminds me of Krystkowiak)are both small and unathletic for their postions in the NBA, and Ryan Anderson is a perimeter 4.
Out of the guys I've listed, I'd say Tyler Smith, Richard Hendrix, and Darren Collison would be the guys in the 1st round that can help us the most, after Williams, Villanueva, and Gadzuric are traded. That's based on their PAWS and their scouting reports. I do like DJ White if he is available in the 2nd round.
