I think Kobe's just went from one of the worst to one of the best in several hours. Amazing.

Kobe (obvious)
KG (big 3)
Nash (Amare, Marion- 3 legit allstars + Barbosa, Bell)
Duncan (outside of Manu and TP "big 3", not much)
Dirk (Josh only allstar maybe, Harris)
Paul (West, Chandler, Peja but weaker bench)
Lebron (scrubs)

Kobe has the best supporting cast.
KG has the 2nd best supporting cast.

I never thought i would say this judging by the position they were in last year.

Atleast Davis scored, Kobe had Odom. Smush, Luke Walton, and Kwame in the starting lineup does it for me.

1) Duncan

I don't see how Kobe's cast is even relevant when Gasol is still registered as a Grilly. Regardless, I would still take the Spurs over the Lakers with Gasol. Though I think Duncan is better than Kobe, there's not enough of a gap to say that Duncan is the reason why the Spurs would beat the Lakers when Kobe's impact is right there with Duncan's.

Even if Pierce + Allen > Ginobili + Parker (not saying they are), the rest of the Spurs cast is much better than the Celtics. Especially after the Stoudamire addition.

Still gotta go with KG and Nash. They both have perennial all-stars as running mates. Gasol's played in one ASG and Odom's never played in any. Even Denver has three perennial all-stars (AI, Melo, Camby). The only thing better about Kobe's supporting cast are the 4-13 players, the offensive scheme, and the coaching. 1-3 there are better teams.
"I'm sure they'll jump off the bandwagon. Then when we do get back on top, they're going to want to jump back on, and we're going to tell them there's no more room." - Kobe in March of 2005

I don't think that Kobe ever had the worst cast, but he does likely have the best cast now.
