need to play brooks and landry more.

landry has a BRIGHT future, and when i say bright, it's all-star potential.

he can dunk like a beast; he has a really nice touch from 15ft (better than any of our big men); and he hustles. he's still learning obviously but he has potential.

brooks still has lapses of inconsistency but he ran the offense well. he plays great with tmac. alston is just afraid to attack when he plays with tmac.

tmac should always play with brooks, bonzi, landry, and yao.

also another positive,

this is one of the more games that we are winning without tracy or yao dominating like they did to start the yr or the past 3 yrs. we are showing our depth. hopefully it can only get better as tmac gets healthy and yao remains in his groove.

BaYBaller wrote:All this T-Mac and Yao favortism just pisses me off. People can't critize either player without "Well why don't you blame so and so?" It's ridiculous! It's like I insulted your mother or something.

Yao had a sub-par night that is obvious, but you can never question his effort. He made mistakes on the PnR for example but that was to help vs penetration. It's like a loose ball foul, good intentions but bad results.

T-Mac made some great interior passes like he always does but he did not in any way, shape or form look for his own shot. He did no cuts, he did not go off any down screens, nothing. He just stood there on the 3pt line if he didn't have the ball. He needs to be a part of the offense, not run it. We need T-Mac to look for his own shot to be a good team. Our role players cannot carry this team with T-Mac trying to be a facilitator.

We'll see what happens tomorrow. Maybe T-Mac was conserving himself for tomorrow or something. In fact I thought he was conserving himself tonight and was going to come out firing when he came in halfway through the 4th. And T-Mac has shown he can be effective in this offense. Like in the SEA game watch how he gets his shots, it's off curls, downpicks and posting on the elbow. He is money from 15-18 ft.

exactly.

This is pitiful. Every team plays bad for stretches...we've actually been playing well for a majority of the last month. However, people here still want to fuss and argue about who is to blame and who is not.

Sometimes guys, you have to take a win for a win, and nothing else. We played poor basketball, and we ended up with a win on the road...be happy. When the quality teams are up next on the schedule, our Rockets are always prepared. They may not win every game, but we do compete and that's a fact.

Stop arguing, we're 6 games above .500 for the first time this season, and hopefully we only move forward.

STOP WHINING. GO ROCKETS.

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

i'm happy
we come from behind on the road
it's good experience
especially now Landry is getting more confident
he's not afraid to take shot
i'm tired of seeing Scola/Battier keep passing the ball up

God I hope we can trade for Bibby or someone like that , we have a pretty good team , at the 4 Scola and Landry are doing a very good job , with T-Mac on Battier is enough , our pg position is the weakest.
Alston is just not good enough and Brooks sometimes will struggle because of matchups and because he is young.
Too bad we don't have anyexpiring contracts to make trades.

I agree. Alston is the best on our roster, and he's good enough to make us a pretty good team, but we can't be an elite team until we get consistency at the PG. We need a PG who can consistently contribute, and by that I mean we need a big name PG. Guys like Alston, Ridnour, Earl Watson, etc won't cut it. We don't have enough starpower that teams like LA or Boston have in order to compensate for our inconsistency at PG. We need a Kidd, a Bibby, or somebody, and if we can get that person then I like our chances to compete in the WC.

IMO even somebody like Beno would be a significant upgrade over Alston and SAC got him cheap when SA waived him.

I really like that Rafer takes care of the ball. I just think he does a really good job. If we had someone who could drive consistently and dish, that'd be great, but we don't.
