Lakers - Rockets WCF's?

Post#1 » by Lakers_4_Life » Sat Feb 2, 2008 5:05 am

What are everyone's thoughts on this? I think it's a good prospect. lakers adding Gasol for Kwame is just ridiculous. Hopefully get back Bynum good....

PG Fisher
SG Kobe
SF Odom
PF Gasol
C Bynum

That's a scary starting 5. And the bench is great with Farmar, Ariza, Walton.

Then Houston is really starting to come on. Team has transisted to finally being Yao's team. They have a coach that actually likes offense now and the depth is ridiculous as 3 rookies are really coming on Brooks, Scola, and Landry. I look at their team and they are a legit 10 deep and not only that they only have one real weak cog in that 10 at starting point guard. Everyone else is good enough in their role as a starter or backup.

PG Alston/Brooks
SG McGrady/Head
SF Battier/Wells
PF Landry/Hayes
C Yao/Scola

I'm just going ahead and assuming Scola and Landry have taken the minutes from now on. Other than starting point guard that's pretty damn strong.

I'm thinking Suns, Mavs, Spurs, Hornets, Jazz, Nuggets, Warriors might need a big trade to keep with these teams.

You're too kind.

Lakers I can see in the WCF. Houston? Not so much. We would have to make a Laker-esque move for that to happen.

They sure are.

Imagine if every poster made a thread for every random thought that popped up every 12 seconds?

If Carl Landry keeps improving that team is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm a Rockets fans, and while I'd love for it to happen (and so would Stern), I think the chances are remote at best.

At the moment, as some of the above posters have pointed out, we aren't even playoff bound.

But I agree with you, Carl Landry is quite the beast. How did he fall to the 2nd round?

Well to me Yao/T-Mac/Landry with some solid role players like Scola, Battier should be enough to get them finally to where they can go.

That's if Landry is for real. I've only seen I think 3 games of his but I am really liking what I see. This guy is an absolute beast.

Lakers: Yeah they could make it, provided they can hold up till Bynum gets back.

Rockets:  no, just no.

lol @ the hard-on for Landry.

Its not like he's been playing good since he got time.

He's averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds for the past 30 days.

Its not like its a huge jump from his 6/4 season average.

Love the Rockets and I would be happy to simply be in the WCF I don't care if the Lakers sweep us and won every game by 20. The WCF seems like such a far ways from where we are. We need a trade..Miller, Kidd..whoever. We just need a trade. Its hard to be a Rocket fan watching another team in the West transform into a legit championship contender overnight.

Probably the act that he's already 24 years old contributed.

Apparently you haven't seen him play yet.

Love the randomness of the Rockets.

I agree with Iggy, I wouldn't care what the final result of that playoff series would be, the fact that we'd reach that point would be enough considering how inconsistent we are. The way the roster is constructed now, I don't see us being anywhere near what the expectations were at the beginning of the season.

If the Lakers get the #2 seed and the Rockets the #7 they will meet in round 1 and I would love to see that series.

Houston, WC finalist? Doubtful at best.

They have to get into the playoffs and out of R1 first, and then, if so, who they face in R2.

After that, then this is a possibility. Until then? Not so much.
