going forward, i think it would be in the best interest of our organization to sacrifice maybe a draft pick or two and a contract, in order to build a strong foundation of you know, character guys, guys who can shoot, going forward. I wouldn't say i'm "actively" pursueing a deal, but as an NBA General Manager going forward, i'm going pretty damn forward. [/bc]

Firstly to those who think Navarro does not make us better, you are wrong. He will provide us with consistent scoring off the bench a la Barbosa in Phoenix and Ellis in Golden State. I'm not saying Navarro is as good as either of those two but he can light it up in a hurry and he will excel in our system. Although some of you will say that we don't need more scoring, I disagree because bench scoring was one of our main strengths last year and this year its a weakness. This is because 2 of our key bench contributors, Calderon and Bargnani, have been moved in to the starting line-up and they are going to remain there for the foreseeable future. When an inconsistent Delfino is your leading scorer off the bench on most nights, bench scoring is a NEED.
Secondly to those who feel that we already have too many shooters, Navarro isn't just a shooter like Kapono. Although he may score the bulk of his points on jumpers, Navarro is a scorer who can create scoring opportunities for himself. As a result, he would be a lethal addition to our bench.
Thirdly to those who don't want to trade Humphries for Navarro, come to the realization that Kris is not a BC type player (SHARE THE BALL!). Hence BC was prepared to move Humphries at the draft for Belinelli. I can only imagine that BC would jump at the chance to move Humphries for Navarro who is a much more proven player especially at the World Championships where he lit up Team USA in the past. I agree that the Raps need rebounding help but I don't expect BC to trade Humphries for Navarro and then sit idly by until the offseason. I would expect Colangelo to follow up this trade with another to acquire a BC type player who can rebound. If BC opts for a conventional rebounder, it may be a big like Kurt Thomas, but if he opts for a hybrid shooter/rebounder/energizer like he has in the past, it may be a 3/4 like Eduardo Najera or Walter Hermann who is languishing on the bench in Detroit.
Lastly, EnigmaticProblem, you know better than to believe everything a GM says. Just because Wallace said he wants to move forward with JCN does not mean anything. What's he suppose to say? "My next move is going to be trading Navarro." Think about the lowball offers he would get by saying that. I think I recall that BC once said that Charlie V was going to be a part of the core here.
Sorry about the long post!

he's another streaky shooter like Kapono or Delfino... but he has a lot more skills!
he is very flashy handling the ball, he can drive to the basket, finish even against big men with his ridiculous floating shot, he can pass, he is clutch,..
the cons: too many turnovers, the refs really disrespect him (both will improve with NBA experience)
Hump is not the appropriate exchange tough

If BC can get Navarro without giving up Kris Humphries, more power to him!
But to get something of value you USUALLY have to give up something of value. I repeat, USUALLY!
The Grizzlies don't need another guard so Juan Dixon is out of the question. I doubt Joey Graham and/or Maceo Baston is enough for JCN.

If Memphis is having a fire sale is Mike Miller a good fit?

If Memphis is looking to dump salary, we could ship Dixon, Graham, Delfino and Baston (or some sort of combination). If Delfino isn't included then Raps would likely have to give up a pick or Roko's rights.
Would Mike Miller be the missing SF Raps need? Would losing some depth be worth his addition? Would he make Raps strong enough to be a real threat in the East?
