Now what are you going to do??
20pts 11ast 10rbs
AND lead your team back from an 11 point halftime defecit to win the game.
AND on national television no less!
Seriously, did you hear the interview at half time where Brandon told the sideline chica that he couldn't feel the ball when he was holding it? And he does THIS?!

Yes he got pulled over for speeding (Im sure youve never done that).. He was under suspicion for underage drinking (WOAH!! nobody does that), he had a thing for strip clubs (Not my thing personally, but im sure you could find many in here who do, that arent bad people), and he punched Ruben in the eye (I could find a few people who would like to do the same). No Zach is not a saint, but hes never done anything THAT bad. He worked his butt off while he was here and never said a bad thing about this place. The booing is pathetic, and I almost wanted him to hit that game winning shot just to shove it in all of those peoples faces
Edit: Yes theres more to his past, but nothing that warranted him being booed like that. Im happy that he was traded, but he deserved to be treated better than that

Booing Zach is Fine during the game BUT maybe the fans should have atleast given him a light ovation but the fans paid there Hard earned money so they can Boo OR cheer as they see fit ... Chill out. As long as the fans did not go Oregon Duck Fan on Zach then i see NO problem with how the crowd reacted to Zach.

our fans were extremely classless tonight...i'd expect that type of behavior from philly fans, but us..wow...zach showed so much more class in his interview after the game than we did....**** bonzi didn't even get booed as badly as zach..for those who booed..my lady is out to get you! Learn some class!

I totally agree with Fitz. Zach made massive improvements, especially in his last year. He finally respected the coach, and didnt have any significant off court issues. He wasn't a model citizen, but he was improving, and wanted to stay here. Players should get booed if they bad mouthed their old team, if they left to go play for more money somewhere else (this one is debatable), or if they did something really classless and evil. None of those describe Zach. I wish that he had gotten moderate applause. I guess people just want to go boo somebody who they dont like, which is their choice, I just think it is childish and classless. Truth is, we are spoiled by our classy and team first players, so we see somebody who isnt perfect and feel like we should boo him. Oh well. Zach handled it well. Another testament to how much he has matured.

Yeah man, he was annoying, but none of his problems were violent or abusive, just indulgent. Plus, he brought it the best he knew how, and even though he was a black hole, he wasn't used to having anybody else to pass to when we got Roy and LMA.
My favorite memory of Zach was the article written after his big knee surgery about how hard he was working to get back out on the court. Granted, his game isn't hurt much by losing mobility, but he came out and had a healthy 20/10 year after that, and he netted us Frye, Jones, and Rudy.

The biggest part of being classy is not basing your class on the classiness or lack thereof of others. Z-Bo loved Portland and Portland should show a little love back. He was our guy last year and I still wear my #50 Blazers jersey proudly. So what he liked strip clubs. Apparently so does a lot of Portland seeing how Portland has more strip clubs per capita than any other city. He's a good guy and deserves to be treated as such.

I'm sorry, but he wasn't a good guy. He lied to the police about criminal activity, lied to the team about his "grieving" period, and sacrificed team success for his own personal stats during his time here. Let's look at the balance sheet on this:
Reasons to boo Zach:
1) Single-handedly he was responsible for the Blazers carrying the "Jail Blazers" nickname for one extra season last year. He was involved in at least two shooting incidents and lied to police about one of them. This was on top of other more minor issues and the whole "Hoops Family" entourage.
2) He essentially forced his way out of town by not being willing to blend in with the new team philosophy brought on by the current team leader and darling of the Rose City, Brandon Roy, and hindsight shows us that Roy's way and Zach on the highway has been a more successful formula.
3) Aside from the on-court chemistry issues, there were multiple reported incidents of off-court chemistry issues, including punching a teammate in practice and blaming teammates for losses when he wasn't exactly contributing to a lot of wins.
Reasons not to boo Zach:
1) He liked his time in Portland; and
2) He worked hard.
Notice that none of the reasons not to boo Zach fall into the realm of the reasons why you give a former player an ovation: he wasn't a former all-star; he wasn't a key contributor to a long run or multiple long runs into the playoffs; he wasn't beloved as a team icon (such as Nate with his "Mr. Sonic" label) because of long-standing positive community contributions; and he wasn't a player who you would have loved to have kept but you had to part with him to get better talent in return. Zach was clearly none of these.
As far as the assertions that he wasn't violent or abusive, he punched a teammate, was reportedly involed in a dog fighting incident, was known to berate teammates after losses while refusing to accept responsibility himself, and he was involved in at least two shooting incidents. On the subject of respecting his coach, that may be true but its clear he didn't respect Nate to the point that he was willing to sacrifice his stats for the good of the team.
I wouldn't have booed Zach myself, but while I'll state unequivocally that booing Zach isn't classy, to say it is classless when there is plenty reason to let Zach know that you didn't appreciate any of the above conditions is to refuse to acknowledge that booing is the only real way that fans have to show their disapproval or dislike of a player, and Zach gave Portland fans plenty of reason to want to show disapproval if a fan wants to see it. There certainly was no reason to give him any sort of ovation--what would it be for? To show our appreciation for his lack of ability to contribute to a winner? For bringing such good publicity to the team while he was here? For being such a good guy (Zach wasn't a good guy, no matter how hard he worked to rehab himself)? Sorry--I don't get that at all.

No freakin' clue about Roy's triple-double. Crazy.
you are very sophisticated....when I'm drunk, I always say "I'm drunk" and if an adjective accompanies drunk, it will be more profane then 'completely'
glad to see that U of O education conditions deeper then when I went there

Man you guys are really classy on this board. I love your team you guys are what basketball should be about. The jailblazers of the past were so unfair to you guys and now you guys got maybe the most humble all-star in Brandon Roy. That kid has so much humility which will take him far. You guys are gonna be a dynasty.

I'm kinda surprised that Zach got booed as loudly as he did. I thought it would be a mix of boos and cheers, but it was pretty much all boos. I don't know if he deserved that much, even though I can understand why some would boo him. Kinda a funny/sad quote from Zach after the game about the boos...
Randolph was philosophical about the prospect of getting booed in Portland. "We get booed at home," he told reporters Thursday. "How much worse can it get?"
