For the League maybe...
I still wouldn't mind seeing Duncan and Garnett square off once and for all.
I guess I'm still very much a Detroit fan as well and wouldn't mind seeing them go for 1 more.

Well for the league the ratings would be through the roof... Not to mention the star power in that series would make it a blast to watch.
I would also love to see KG vs. Duncan as well.

They still dont beat the Spurs in a 7 game series.
They still dont beat the Suns in a 7 game series.
They still dont beat the Mavs in a 7 game series.

Those guys were born on third base and keep wanting to claim they hit a triple.....

Not gonna research the specifics now. But I think 78 was the year the NO Jazz traded their #1 pick in 79 basically for a washed up Gail Goodrich and maybe some other garbage? The Jazz were horrible that year, the Lakers win the coin flip(of course they did Kareem was there) and draft Magic Johnson. The Bulls get David Greenwood and the rest is history. Magic and Bird weren't gonna save the league with Magic playing in Utah!, who just moved in via New Orleans.
As far as Bird goes that was the brilliance of Auerbach to draft Bird at #6 a year early in a horrible draft. The conspiracy with Boston was Golden State giving away McHale and Parish for Joe Barry Carroll. That deal was put into place once Bird arrived in Boston. Still I would say the most lopsided trade in history along with Kobe for Vlade Divac.
