The lakers were contenders before the trade. They had the best record in the west before the injuries. The problem they had was finding a way to keep a playoff spot until the players returned. The trade solved that problem.

what i said yesterday:
greenbeans wrote:i get your point, you got an all-star caliber* big, your excited. fair enough. good luck but it doesnt always work out the way you hope it does.

and thats what i still stand by. .

and regular season has NO implications of the playoffs, you saying that team X has no chance whatsoever is just foolish, LOTS of things can and will happen between now and then.

im neutral, i honestly dont know which way its going to go, but if you wanna say im not a believer because im being rational then fine, say what you will.

I don't know if I'm a believer, this season. Bynum being out, and Gasol having to learn the triangle...you never know how Odom will adjust to playing the 3. I think it will all fit eventually, but I can't tell if eventually means by the end of this season.

If I had to guess, Kobe, Gasol, Odom are such skilled passers, and Bynum is fairly competent in that area, that the group will mesh, and they'll contend.

I'm a believer unless Bynum's leg gets amputated...

that being said, this is Phx's year to either put up, or htat team is getting dismantled.

Count me as a believer. I am glad Gasol is getting to play for a contender.

I believe. They have the best player in the game and one of the best front lines. Plus a great coach.

I am absolutely 100% a believer as long as Bynum comes back healthy.

If Bynum comes back healthy, they are not only contenders, but they are FAVORITES. They are the best team in the NBA if everyone is healthy.

Non believer here, healthy celtics, spurs and suns are better.

Couldn't this be posted on the lakers board? More crappy threads clogging up the gb board

Yeah, so this is like the opposite of a good reason to start a thread.

RealGM isn't about calling out posters and saying "I told you so". Grow up.
