Lakers fan here.. Question about Turkoglu

Post#1 » by SPuL » Sat Feb 2, 2008 11:49 pm

I was wondering what it would take to pry Hedo away from you.

What I had in mind was:

Lamar Odom
Coby Carl

for.

Hedo Turkoglu
Pat Garrity
Carlos Arroyo

Obviously Hedo is playing out of his mind this year.. I'm just wondering if you guys would rather have a versatile 4 who can average 15/10/5 for instead of 2 guys who play almost the same game, in Rashard & Hedo.

With Bynums extention coming up this summer the Lakers will have Kobe at 20 mil per, Gasol at 14+, Lamar at 14+ & Drew between 10-13.. Obviously we aren't going to keep that core intact & Lamar is the odd man out.. Hence wanting to acquire a more affordable SF along with some expirings..

Let me know what you guys think

You should be shot dead right now. Kobe or get the f*ck out of here.
Odom is good, but he has too many question marks of consistency and injury.
Yeah Hedo had his shooting issues and his Turkoflu, but he's our Mr. 4th Quarter.

Hedo has been better than Odom this season.

id consider Odom/Turiaf for that.. but not ATM, Hedo is helping us win.. and our PG spot would be REALLY thin as much as I hate Arroyo

Arroyo isn't important.. He could be replaced with any other expiring so that's not an issue.

Wow @ the responses so far though lol. You guys are right Hedo is playing lights out for you this season so I don't blame you for being offended.. But I think most unbiased parties would agree Lamar is the more talented/valuable player.

If Lamar is more talented and valuable then why do you want to trade him for Hedo.

Don't get greedy. Just because your team stole a player from one team doesn't mean you can go around the league doing it team by team. Just be thankful that your former GM also has ties to the owner of the team you stole the player from. Yeah....yeah....he had nothing to do with it. I've got some land in the Everglades I'd like to sell you, too.

I explained that in my OP.

Bynum is due for his extention this summer & that will leave us with 4 players making close to 60 mil. That simply isn't going to happen.

Lamar is most likely the odd man out, we need to swap him for a solid shooting SF who makes alot less money, along with expiring contracts.

After the free gift of Pau I hope no GM will take on Odom for expirings just so the Lakers can extend Bynum.

So in this trade we give up the better player (this season) so the Lakers can afford to give their center an extention. It just doesn't make any sense and has no chance of happening.

And Lamar is more valuable even though he would give us less and we would pay him more?

If the Lakers want to save money, you are going to have to trade him for crap. Simple as that. You aren't getting a 20/6/4 sweet shooting clutch player back. Look at what you gave Memphis for Pau and you think you can get Hedo back for Odom?

Odom is more talented, but Hedo is a far better NBA Player. Go figure.

Call me crazy, but I'd do it. Remember, Odom had his best year under Stan while in Miami. And, his rebounding would really help our team. We can play him at PF and Shard back at the 3.

Laker fan, keep Coby; you'll have to include Turiaf in that deal.
