4 out of five lakers starters and better then the piston how is piston five better then the lakers??? ;o
This guy is clueless and his comparisons are faulty. 1st of all why would u compare gasol and prince when gasol is PF and prince is SF. you should be comparing Prince and Odom and another thing If you think Bynum is better than Sheed You are delusional buddy.
It should be
Billups > Fisher
Kobe > Rip
Prince > Odom (cuz prince brings more to the table than odom)
Sheed > Bynum
Gasol > McDyess
Pistons are better in 3/5 positions, therefore they win.

Even if that's true, you're forgetting that the Lakers have far and away, the best player out of the 10.

The team with the best starting 5 is the team whose starters have the biggest point differentials against the opponent. I don't have that number with me, but I think the next stats, PER differential for the starters, could be a fairly accurate representation. From the looks of it, it appears the Celtics are the best, the Pistons are next, then the Suns, then the Lakers, which appears to be right in line with what the poster I quoted above posted.
The Lakers, however, have just obtained Gasol. Replace Luke with him and now they become the best. It all makes sense to me.

Damn, I just added all the starters' PER differential of those teams and the Celtics are way ahead of everyone. No wonder they seemed to overwhelm us. Even by adding Gasol, we would only be equal to them. It would actually take Gasol AND Bynum making improvements to beat them(in other words, Bynum at his current average and Gasol are only about equal to KG.) KG's impact is truely frightful.
However, it should be noted that the Celtics play in the East. One would think that would inflate their players' PER differentials a little bit.
