I really don't know what happened. I just thought it was an interesting subject. This is the best article I could find on the game with quotes from people who were at the game including officials who never mention anyhthing about dunking free throws.

Yea to be honest i dont have a problem with that. If you are soo good that you can do that and the rules allow it, the more power to you.

I still don't see how it would have been allowable in any era.

Oh well, it was a little before my time (I started watching the NBA in the late 60') but never ever heard of anyone seeing or even attempting to do a "Wilt-like" FT attempt.

We did used to copy the underhand FT stuff like he and Rick Barry used to do.

Interesting though.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Good to know that there are more than one young-gun fan here :)

Not that we are supposed to talk about age .

yea craig, i don't think anyone has ever attempted it in the NBA either. I think Wilt was probably the first person to do it in high school back then (or at least the only well known person to do it), and the NCAA and NBA knew he was going to do it if the rules allowed it so they changed it before he could get there. Didn't really apply to anyone but him at the time.

You mean to say a guy leapt 32 (THIRTY-THREE) times from the foul line during a game for freethrows/freedunks?

Can you begin to imagine the toll this would take on anyone?

Not credible...
even beethoven had his critics. name three of them.
