Looking for a big man who can rebound and guard - something its own Mehmet Okur is not always inclined to do - Utah has targeted Indiana's Jeff Foster for a potential deal.

Probably? Are you out of your mind?
NO WAY IN HELL I would trade Okur for Foster.
The most I would offer to get salaries to match would be a Collins/Hart and possibly a pick thrown in. If they asked for any more then that, I would simply hang up the phone.
I like this team we have now.
The Jazz are done with moves. Unless like I stated above, they can acquire value for garbage.

At draft time the story was Larry Bird was trying to trade into the late 1st round to draft Morris Almond , so I could see him interesting the Pacers as part of a package for Jeff Foster.
Maybe Almond, Jarron Collins and Ronnie Price as filler for Foster would do it. Price most likely would be waived.
Almond would give the Pacers a young shooting guard with potential. Foster would be an immediate favorite with Jerry Sloan and Jazz fans. Pacer fan will say thats not enough for Jeff but at 31 he is the oldest Pacer and the team is going nowhere .
I'm sure Pacer fans will say the Jazz need to throw a late 1st round in too , but thats what Almond is , to me such a trade makes sense in that Collins is a cheap big to play limited minutes here.

Pacer Fan here,
It is true Bird wanted Almond, in fact rumor was we had a deal in PLace with Houston for Luther Head and the rights to their 2007 1st( which Bird wanted Almond) for Ike Diogu, then Utah picked Almond in front of Houston, thus killing the deal. However I must say , considering to my knowledge you have limited options at SG, that it concerns me Almond is being constantly sent back to the NBDL. Comments on that? Also for Foster what we would want you obviously wont give up ( D. Williams.) and although Milsap, and Almond and possibly even Brewer intrigue us. Salaries wont add up. And you can forget Memit or Harpring, Bird is already trying to make us the whitest team in the NBA

I'm quite positive Foster's rebounding and defense will help your team win more than Memo's jump shooting. Believe me, we Pacer fans have Troy Murphy's who's basically Memo + better rebounding, and we almost all prefer Foster by quite a wide margin. Scoring is easy to find, it's the rebounding and good defense that's isn't.

Judging by your posts, this is the only line of thinking that registers with you. Back to reality, Utah's interior defense still sucks, and if youre fooled because we outscored teams, mostly at home, I look forward to your bitching, whining rants when we hit playoff time about how bad our defense is.

So you think by trading Okur for Foster, that would just clear up our defensive woes? Are you kidding me? You need to come to reality as I have, and realize the Jazz aren't going to make any trades, the Jazz aren't going to find that defensive big man, and the theory of having one is entirely overrated. I disagree with LJ's posts a lot, but if you'd go read his post on how overrated it is and how virtually impossible it will be for us to find a serviceable defensive big that can actually make a difference out there for us, I think you'll find it a good read.
By your word "probably", it tells me you actually would consider a Okur for Foster swap. And that just tells me how much about the Jazz you really know. Okur for Foster? Are you kidding me? Foster would be an incredible addition off the bench, but to trade our Okur for him for the premise that Jeff Foster will somehow help cure our defensive woes....it's lunacy. You're a lunatic bozo.
Will I be whining this season and into the playoffs about our defense? Most likely yes. But I've come to terms with that. We cant trade our core, and the pieces we have to trade, we cant get a valuable piece in return that can actually make a difference and a move that BOTH teams would like. It just wont happen. To resort to desperation though to solve a weakness and to make a move just to make a move and actually consider a Foster/Okur swap.........LMAO at you. Seriously. LMAO at you.
Get a clue.

First off, I never said I would do Okur for Foster, and the only reason I didnt come out like a maniac like you did against it is because nobody actually proposed it. The article mentioned Memo not being able to guard anyone(which is true) so I threw it out there, just in case thats what they were thinking, that I wouldnt do it. And 2nd of all, having Foster down low instead of Memo makes us a HELL of alot better defensively. If you cant see that, youre either a homer or blind. Again, since you cant comprehend, I didnt say I would trade Memo for Foster. Are you still understanding or did I lose you?

No, you said "probably", and thats what I called you out for. Probably? Are you serious? It's no different then me saying I PROBABLY wouldnt trade Deron Williams for Eric Snow.
The thought of trading Okur for Foster straight up is beyond stupid, and even considering such but ultimately shying away from it is beyond stupid.
Plus you insinuating that Foster over Memo makes us a "HELL" of a lot better defensively is a joke too. Foster doesn't suck at defense but he's no stopper. When Memo is on his game, he brings so much more than what Foster could to the Jazz. Not only offensive ofcourse, but spacing. Especially when he's on the floor with Korver.

There is no WAY in hell the Jazz give up Memo for Foster.
Do you know the definition of the word "probably"? Apparently not. And they wouldnt deal him straight up, but I could see them in a combo deal. But no way in HELL do I expect you to understand that.
