I'm not sure which of those four Utah would consider off-limits, but I'd be happy with any of them, especially the three guards.

The closest deal would be Jarron Collins, Jason Hart, and Morris Almond for Jeff Foster. It comes out to within $50,000 in salary for this year, but Collins and Hart both have contracts for next year, which is a negative.


But, Almond might be worth it.

I'm a Pacers fan, honest.

As for the pick, it doesn't list them, but it doesn't matter since they carry no monetary value in trades. Just attempt the deal sans draft picks, and if it works, then just add in the draft pick(s) manually.

SG is not a weakness for the Jazz anymore. As for Almond, Jerry Sloan is notorious for not giving rookies burn, in fact look at Ronnie Brewer last season. As of right now Almond would be #3 on our depth chart at SG, so why let him rot on the bench when he can get minutes in the DLeague.

Interesting, and I think Foster would be a really good addition for Utah. But I think the main reason the Pacers would want to trade Foster is out of concern to get under the luxury tax NEXT YEAR, which means we would have to trade him for someone with an expiring contract. So far as I can tell, Utah doesn't have anyone with an expiring contract that is big enough to match salaries with Foster.

The Pacers need to find a team that is offering an expiring contract plus (hopefully) a draft pick or someone we might want to have like Millsap (no way we'd get someone as good and with as much potential as Brewer IMO).

I think it's going to be pretty tough before the deadline to find a willing trade partner with the right goods for sale for Foster.

You're very unlikey to see any big deals like this during the regular season. Utah is trying to make a playoff push. They are winning their divison and they wanna improve on it. Dealing 3 players and getting 3 in return could make them much better, but it could also mess up the locker room with chemesty issues and break the season for them. They probably have one need that they really want to fix before the deadline and according to this report it's rebounding.

If they were unable to deal their first round pick for Foster, the deal i'd look for most is Morris Almond and Ronnie Price.

Good point. So whats your thought on the miami trade. Seeing as they arent making the playoffs. I like the deal myself.

On an excitement level, i do like it. But, in todays world, i don't know. Ricky Davis i'd stay away from. Poor attitute. magine what he'd be like in Indianapolis? Jason Williams doesn't carry the greatest image either. It doesn't seem we would improve all that much with that trade because they will most likey have a top 5 pick and the players we'd be getting back are no good for us.

However, that all being said, i would love to have Daequan Cook and
Dorell Wright on this team.

I think the Heat will stay put though. Draft a Derrick Rose or OJ Mayo and have one of the best backcourts in all of the game. And i think they will wait til Jermaine O'Neal is a UFA and throw tons of money his way.

I agree with the davis and williams but they along with zoe would be exp more than anything. cook will be big i think. wright is exp too. thats a ton of cap space, a good pick, and prospect. not to mention we finally rid ourselves of tinsley, and rush wont be sticking around anyways.

I think you'd ultimately have to swap who gives the 2nd and who gives the 1st.

If we're able to move Tinsley's contract, and get back not only Morris Almond, but Mehmet Okur as well, we're probably giving up the 1st rounder in that offer.

I have a feeling that if anybody is moved....it would be Foster. I love what he does for this team....but if there is anytime that his trade value would be at it's highest....it would be now.

Not only is he showing how valuable he is to a team like the Pacers that is deprived of a real Frontcourt.....but with the Gasol trade....I would think that some Western Conference team would need a Frontcourt player that can rebound and defend opposing Big Men.

He maybe better suited to come off the bench and have no real offensive game.....but he can contribute to a Western Conference Playoff team as the "first Big Man" off the bench that can solidly defend Big Men like Gasol or Duncan while providing some solid rebounding.

Although I would hate to see him go....I hope that Western Conference GMs are calling up Bird to see how much it would cost to pry away Foster.
