200 million people got to witness

Post#1 » by big_baller_shot_caller23 » Sun Feb 3, 2008 3:56 am

That Charlie V is better than Yi,

Charlie V , at the time was the second leading scorer on the floor for the bucks and the bucks were not down by much, only about 4 , 3 , 5 kept changing, until Yi came back into the game for him to play the remaining 3 min

Charlie V's +- for todays game was 0

Yi +- for today was -8

Someone needs to get fired, Charlie V is better than Yi clearly and 200 million people realized that today.

I have to agree, even though CV is NOT the type of player we need and Yi will be better in the end, at this Moment he is alot better then Yi

Oh give me a damn break Charlie V. absolutely sucked in the first half...he definitely played better in Q3 and should have been on the floor...but quit making that lazy bastard out to be more then he is....once again he is a LAZY MAN'S Tim Thomas at best.

CV is in his third year, Yi has played 1/2 a year. There is no doubt that Yi will turn out to be the better player.

I'll admit that tonight unlike most nights CV actually looked like he had a pulse out there on the court but lets not go overboard.

at this present state, charlie v is much better than yi, and until yi is better he should not start, when its obviouss that yi is better than he can start, but Charlie V in his NBA rookie season was still playing better than yi.

Its obviouss there is a handshake agreement with the Chineese and Milwakke Organization , ANYONE could of seen that Yi should not of been in the 4th quarter and it should of been charlie v playing, this is the reason why milwakee is losing so many games, coach needs to get fired,

Bogut
Charlie V
Redd
Simmons
Mo williams

there lineup is better than half the teams in the east easly.

The problem for Yi right now is he's pretty much just strictly a jump shooter and he can't make a jumper the last month or longer even if it meant a trade to a team of his wishes.

When jump shooters can't make jumpers, they tend to look ugly on the court. After tonight, Yi wil be shooting around 35% over his last 18 games.

Mix in the always terrible defense by Villanueva and his erratic offensive play, you have the Bucks getting terrible production from the PF position on most nights.

I agree CV sucks....but if Yi wasn't Chinese with all his marketing bucks and his playing time issues, I think after this game you'd want to let CV get the start for 10 games to see if anything changes with either guy.

We're 18-30....the season is pretty much down the drain......why wouldn't you start CV for a couple weeks? I still like Yi, but he's not playing well at all and hasn't for the last month. Let him get some rest and perspective with the second unit.

and to think it looks like only 7 people have noticed that ur sleeping with CV.

Yi has hit the rookie wall, but his main difficulty right now is finding his own niche in the offense of a team that is trying to find it's own identity, which tennds to be tough for any player much less a rookie. Not to mention that with the injuries we have now CV IS the main option when he comes in off the bench.

CV floats around often enough that I don't care if he starts or not. Yi might as well get the experience. But it'd be nice to see that rough 28-20 minute split go CV's way for a while, and let Yi keep focusing on the boards if he can't get his shot, at least up to the trade deadline.

If CV could ever be bothered to give a damn on defense for more than 2-3 plays per game, this wouldn't even be a topic. Last night Bonzi Wells (Bonzi Wells everybody!) drove right around CV on at least 2 occasions, to the baseline.

It's gotten to the point with CV where even other fans around me are saying "hey, this guy is actually trying tonight for a change, leave him in. After all, it's not like you're going to get this effort any other night."

Its hard to give your best when you know you'll get subbed in for someone whos been promised to get 20 mins a night. The 3 years vs 1/2 is dumb, CV was in the running for ROY, scored 51 points one game... YI? highly unlikely.

If you had a job where you knew you had no future of advancement no matter what you did because you are stuck behind the boss's underachieving son, would you bring your A-game to work every day?

Sometimes, I think guys around here willfully put their blinkers on about Yi. So far the guy has shown a game that is no more accomplished than Channing Frye's. He's a jump shooting big man who can block and rebound a little, but with no other advanced skills.

Those last 2 posts were among the dumbest I have seen, and thats saying alot. Let me get this straight, because you are not starting and allegedly see "no hope" you can play lazy, half-arsed basketball and its cool? That is beyond stupid, how about playing hard so they have no choice but to play you? How about playing very hard and well so you can get traded? How a bout playing very hard and well so you can eventually get paid by someone? Look at CV's entire career and you will see a lazy, indifferent player on every level...he gets abused routinely on defense and is a wuss....thats why he doesn't play, he is your typical "coach killer" type player, someone who flashes talent but does not have the ballz to realize it and do the work to equal that talent.

Every now and then we get a reality check on things......The Channing Frye comment is intriguing because I'd have to admit that Yi's rookie year is essentially Frye's rookie year as well......

Frankly the comment is so spot on that it scares me as a Bucks fan. But I still have some faith that the experience and athletic training Yi is now getting for the first time will allow him to take his game up a gear next season. I wouldn't discount the amazing cultural and life adjustments that Yi is going through right now. His second year could show a breakout......

xtitan if you seriously don't think you'd get disheartened when you bust your balls only to be absolutely guaranteed of being taken out to be replaced by an inferior guy, your simply not human. You have shown a dislike for CV which is fine, but it's clouding your judgement imo. Whilst CV's lack of consistency has annoyed me as much as anyone the guy is getting screwed, whether you see it or not. Right now I could care less about his entire career, what i do know is that over the last month or two his production has been so much better than Yi's when given the opportunity it's not even a contest, yet whether he's playing well or poorly makes absolutely no difference as to when he's taken out for Yi.

You want CV to play hard so they HAVE to play him, well there are 20 examples of this but how's the 3rd and 4th quarters last night? CV was playing very well, showed a heap of energy and hustle on offense and D and gave us a real spark to help us make it very tight early in the 4th(think he might have scored our previous 6 points, and had a strip on Yao down low to stop a dunk?). Yi on the other hand was playing poorly and was apparantly injured. What does LK do? Takes out CV and brings back Yi for the stretch, who proceeds to miss a couple of jumpers and contribute nothing on either end in a predictable loss.
It makes absolutely no difference what CV does, Yi will get those minutes. Like I said if that's not disheartning, your not human.

I'm getting sick of people standing up for Yi right now. I've said a million times he's a rookie with a ton of potential who'll probably be a very good player, but how in the hell does that justify LK starting and overplaying someone who has played just terrible ball for the past 6 weeks? Yi's a rookie who's playing like crap. This is neither a tragedy nor a great surprise as most rookies go through it, but how many of them continue to start? This situation must be baffling to everyone else in the league.

It is not because most people know that Yi has the promise.

The Channing Frye comparasion is not so good honetly. Yi already show more defense than Frye but at the same time Frye didn't have Yi's problem to keep ball in his hands. It is true that Frye didn't do anything except jumpers but he was not trying to go inside and therefore he was not making Yi's mistakes. Also, if I remember corectly Channing was not this selfish.

There is still hope for Yi of course. But he is not sure thing. Not even close.

Whats baffling to me as an outsider, I thought the bucks were going to be serious contenders in the east with all the injured people coming back from Injury. You have talented people at all positions.. This team is not in rebuilding mode... yet it treats the development of Yi as if winning isn't a priority
