Thank You Jason Collins
As much as Collins may not of had the most talent in the NBA. He was one of the best proffesionals. He always was out there, injured or not, and never got respected for what he did. He's greatly regressed over the last 2 years, but early in his career he was a decent bigman who didnt get credit enough for his defense. He was one of the best defensive bigs for a while in this league.
It is not his fault he got a 6 million dollar contract, if it wasnt for that, no one would talk about him as they do now.
I have tons of respect for Jason, and wish him the best in Memphis. It's sorta sad, it feels like its the end of an era. Collins has made the playoffs every season of his career and tonight moved up to 3rd for most games played as a Net. Only Kidd and RJ remain from the Finals days.
Thanks for everything collins.

Words do not describe what every Net fan has gone through with you. Two Finals appearances along with countless playoff battles. You have never missed the post season on this team yet we send you to a team that has no chance to step foot past April. We loved you and hated you just because you were different than the other big men in the league yet you played to your ability. For that we honor you for not being a hater against us and loving every minute you played on the court for us.
We will miss you Jason and hope to have you back sooner than you think.

For some reason I feel that once his contract is up, he'll sign with the nets for obviously a much smaller contract, maybe in the 1 mil range. Frank loves him, the team loves him. He is someone I'd just love to have on the team, not in a starters role, but as a role player. He does whatever you need, doesnt complain, and understands his role. He is also a very smart player and his stats don't show what he does. Of course I've gotten on Collins before, but that's natural. Looking back, I have more respect for him, then anyone else on this team.

Great post.
On an unrelated note, it's hard to believe that Collins is 3rd on the list for most games as a Net. That's just unreal.

He deserves a round of applause when he returns to the Izod Center.
He never complained and was a true professional.
I know we disliked him getting crap load of minutes, but that's really the coaches fault.
I hope he can come back to the nets once he expires for a reasonable salary.
Hopefully Frank won't be around by then

Quite a slew of outstanding posts!
Twin was a class act and helped us go from a laughing stock team to Eastern conferance champians. I'm glad he got the start last night and had that play called for him where he got the dunk. Thanks for the memories of being on some of the best Nets teams ever. Best of luck in Memphis.

Everything has already been said but it just can't be said enough about how professional Jason was during his 5 years here. He did his job to his best ability and was an amazing chemistry player. In the playoffs he stepped up his game each year and really was a big part in all our playoff runs. Good luck Jason and I would surely welcome him back for the min once his contract is up. Just a great guy on and off the court.

its funny how all of us bash him for sucking and doing nothing and now are so sympathetic , i know he sucks but provides good man defense which is one of the huge factors that got us to the finals twice.
always remember him in that defensive stance!
i really hope Memphis trades him to a playoff team !!!

I bashed frank for giving collins more PT then he deserved, not once did I wished upon his death like many others, so you should think twice before posting ''all of us'' again...

yeh we all know we were pretty much at the end of the road w. Collins in a Nets uni...he has done a lot for this organization...defensively vs. Shaq and Duncan in the finals...matching up against every top big man, even when Kenyon was around...switching from C to PF to C...
he started as a decent ft shooter, we thought he had a jump shot at one time "set shot willy"...and then before you knew it he couldnt hit the side of a barn...
He has become slower over the last couple of seasons, but his body definitely is carrying major miles/minutes against some tough competition...
I personally like to thank Twin for being our big man for long time, stepping up taking those charges and always moving the ball well...he's a true Net and will always be remembered as Nets baller...
Good luck in Memphis!!!
