I remember during Vince's injuries, everyone was talking about his family and his future.
Oh wait, that never happened.
And if you say that his injuries were not as serious, you are proving the very point I am trying to make, which is that it is the seriousness of Ford's injury that makes him untouchable, not the fact that he is injured, as injured players often get criticised, except for in the fictional RalGM world where people only think about player's families.

Carter got a lot of leeway with his injuries. People started criticizing him when his injuries combined with his lack of effort on the court. With his "no more dunking" and 15 ppg. And it really got bad when he left and suddenly remembered how to score and stay healthy.
Sorry, but a neck injury for someone who has a history of it is far different then an ankle sprain. The fact that he had to go to a variety of specialists, had to stay in the hospital, had to be taken off in a neck brace on a stretcher, etc should tell you that.
Face it, you just want to criticize a guy you dislike and are mad people call you a bad person for it. Tough.

mabey getting carried off of a stretcher numerous times? Mabey having spinal surgery?
When i was in grade 12, they thought i had meningitis. They had to take fluid out of my spine to check if i had anything. Due to that i could not get up for about a 2 weeks. I could not stand up for more then 2 or 3 minutes for about a month. I tried going to school 3 weeks in, and i had to take a taxi crawling from my driveway to the door.... Its very painful

Oh, and back on topic.
When TJ comes back, I'd like to see Sam start to buckle down on Jose with the same tough love he gives Andrea. Let guys blow by you constantly, or give guys open 3's because your staring into space, you get yanked for TJ. That may be the only thing that gets him to start trying to improve.

a) I am aware of the difference, but you are pretending like no fans in the history of sport have ever wanted a guy to rush back to play.
b) I don't take the moral judgments of RealGM users very seriously, considering most of the people now left on their board don't seem to have much in life but this board.
c) Ford was probably my favourite player before the injury, and I have no ill will for him at all. If the situation is bad as it is made out to be, I would rather the guy retire and avoid all risk. If it's not, then I'm pissed that this charade has gone on too long, and who's fault that is, is yet to be known. My main complaint is that fans are being kept in the dark about this.
As for the "specialists", one does not have to be a baseketball expert to know what John Lucas is a specialist of: Mental problems. He helps players more than anything with their mindset.
So yes, if it is just a mental thing, which is what all signs point to(there wsa no concussion), I don't mind being a "bad person" and saying that he should be back already.
And if it's physical problems again, just retire, because thats probably whats best.
And if he is risking his life playing ball, why do you want him to do that. You want to see someone paralyzed on the court?

seems like you do not know who john lucas is.....mabey he is risking his health because he feels obliged to do that... These are top athletes who are getting paid by contract. You think he is going to feel good knowing he is getting paid 8 million because he thought mabey it was his best choice?
PS. you have been here for a week, don't go off saying who was your favorite player or what not thinking people will believe you. For all we know you could be a troll (superb's favorite word of the day).

Nor do you, or you would have said more than that.
He is a former drug addict who helped many players with drug issues, and is not a specialist on any body parts.
P.S. I have been here for a day, don't know how you got a week.

... ya which players has he helped with drug issues? anyways, he was a coach for many teams (spurs, nuggets, 76ers, and the Cavs (i think)). In the summer he trains players psychically (not mentally). Bargnani will be at that camp if i am not mistaken.
BTW it says you have been here since Jan 27 (today is not January 28).

Okay, after that ignorance I don't know if I can respond to you anymore. You pretend to know who he is, but have no knowledge of his connection to drugs.
Before asking, why didn't you look it up, seeing as you're on the internet and all.
Off the top of my head, Lloyd Daniels and Richard Dumas are two that I remember, but there are many.
But at least that little lack of knowledge lets me know that you are too young too even know who those players are.
It's funny that you tell me I don't know who Lucas is, and in fact, you really don't seem to know anything baout the guy. The irony.

damb i did not realize people hire head coaches in the NBA solely to help players with drug addiction...
BTW John was the head coach of the 76ers during Richard Dumas's drug problems.

Don't try to save face. You asked me who he helped with drug issues, as if he's never done it, and I gave you a couple of guys off the top of my head, proving your assumptions wrong.
He himself had drug issues, overcame them, so he is good at helping others do the same.
You want to find out more, go look it up, young'n, but stop pretending like you know what you're talking about unless you actually do.

I think both of us know that he is not helping Ford with drug issues. Fact is that your trying to say that Lucas is not the man to help Ford. I just pointed out 4 teams he has coached. His main job is not helping any drug related issues, but physical.

ford's defense is INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED.
