What an integral part of, and the starting SF for a near 50 win team? If that's all he's gonna be, then sign me up.

was at the game today in the d. hermann was all over the court (off the ball) on D, and that driving finger roll was pretty stuff. sheed was freaking out on the bench when he hit that step-back 3 in the right corner!

hermann doesn't play because jarvis hayes is playing well, to be sure. they do similar things, and, although i like hermann much more, it's hard to take a guy out of the lineup when things are working. hayes will go cold or get hurt soon enough, and hermann will play his way into flip's favour.

pistons fans already love the guy. they were calling for him in the third corner. dumars is an excellent gm, i wouldn't count on grabbing him unless we overpay, kapono-style. maybe not a bad idea.

Hermann is someone I'd look as for a depth signing if we made a quantity for quality trade this offseason.

I think he's a quality player, but doesn't offer anything much to our team as it is.

So essentially, when he gets to play 40 minutes AND take a decent amount of shots (14), he can put up numbers.

When he doesn't play a lot of minutes, he puts up bench warmer type numbers. If he played in Toronto, at most he would be getting 20 minutes-ish a game.

That would put him around his post-all star break numbers of 12.3 PPG 3.3 RPG 0.8APG 0.7 TO/G

Decent, but it isn't anything awe-inspiring. That is off nearly 9 shots a game. Moon puts up comparable numbers to that, fewer points, more boards in similar minutes/scoring opportunities.

He would be an improvement off Graham, sure, so in the offseason it wouldn't be a bad guy to look at, but Garbo will also be back from his injury at that point too, and I really don't think that Hermann does a better job defensively to what Jorge can do.

I'd love to have Walter on this team. His career is being wasted in Detroit.

He was probably the key reason why I won my fantasy league last year, guy was putting up all star numbers.

Was expecting great things from him this year but looks like he's caught in the numbers game.

Haha I see this thread and I assume that Walter played a big role in the Pistons win. I look at the box score and he was 2-2 in 4 minutes!!!! Haha only the Raptors board would make a 3 page thread on a guy based on hitting 2 shots in garbage time. Haha but that's what I love about this board.

walter hermann can flat out play, being a spurs fan id rather him goto the spurs but i would be happy for any team.

for those who dont know his history, its a sad one. hes lost his entire family in about two years dad the first year and wife, sister, mom the same day the following year. To see him win the gold medal in 2004 was just a great moment in sports history. this guy definity has the heart of a champion.

i believe that he ended up in vincents dog house because he plays wallace and jason for 40+mins. just wasnt enough time to go around. obviously the pistons are DEEP are you can technically consider walter a "young" player being that its his 2nd year in the league.

Herrmann is a solid player but he's exactly what the Raptors don't need right now. The team is absolutely loaded with PFs and mediocre SFs. The last thing they need is another 28-year-old, benchwarming, 3-point-shooting forward. The team already has guys like Baston, Graham and Kapono who barely play. Throwing Hermann into the mix fighting for minutes alongside those guys, Delfino and Moon doesn't really improve the team all that much unless you could get a significantly better return for some of those guys than you'd have to give up to get Hermann in the first place.

Herrmann isn't as bad as his present numbers would indicate, but he isn't as good as he finished last season with the Bobcats. He wouldn't start over Moon and I don't believe he's better than Delfino. This team could really use an upgrade to the starting lineup (particularly at the wings and at C) and the return of TJ to reinvigorate the bench. Herrmann would just be more of the same and add to the already overcrowded roster.
