It is kind of blowing my mind how much these Pacers fans think that Jeff freakin' Foster is worth. Are you kidding me?
This is a guy that is a rebounding specialist with limited athletic ability or skill. A guy that will be making 13 million over the next two seasons and is almost 32 years old......all while playing for a team that is locked into three of the worst contracts in the NBA (O'Neal, Murphy, Dunleavy) that will be just good enough to prevent them from getting a good enough draft pick to actually compete for anything meaningful, while making it apparent that they are going nowhere fast.
Does this sound like a team that needs a 30+ year old bit player with an oversized contract? I don't think so.
I'm sure Foster could shine on a team that needs his particular abilities, and I think that team might even be the Jazz, but the attitude coming from these Indiana fans that they don't want anything but, basically, a lotto pick in return for him is mind boggling to say the least.
With all that said, a package that includes, Miles, Collins, Price/Hart and a future 2nd rounder seems fair for both sides, imo. I would hesitate to give up on Almond right now, because we haven't seen enough from him to determine whether he is a keeper or not, and Miles has shown enough that with a half year of real solid run, he could easily earn a contract in the mid-level area.
