Kapono

Post#1 » by Triangle Theory » Mon Feb 4, 2008 6:15 am

Hey Laker fan here.

I used to play ball at gahr high school a while backk, and was played against Kapono in a LB tourney when he was with Artesia HS Pioneers. I was wondering, how is h doing up there, besides the 3 point sharp shot?

If used frequently tha guy can thrive in any offense. Since he was young.

He can't even put up a jumpshot these days. He can't handle the ball, can't defend, can't rebound. Without his jumpshot, he's useless. I can't believe he was the first signing of the 2007 free agency period, 12:01 am at that too. Because of that he's doing well, really well.

Way to go BC.

I was kidding, you know that.

Yah disregard the poster above, Jason has been incredible, the thing is we just don't use him the way we should. The guy can hit shots, but we are making him scramble. Coaching, and personal are the blame.

(btw, No disrespect intended, if you got played against kapo than that is some great ****)

HAHAH! ok seriously, I usually detest when people respond in a sarcastic manner (or sometimes rude manner) when posters from other boards come here and ask serious questions... but honestly, I found that response to be flippin' hilarious! Well done.

And to answer the Original poster's question. Kapono, IMO will be utilized better as the season goes on. He's proven that he can shoot, and that last year, shooting over 50% over the course of the season was no fluke. The problem is, is that he can't create his own shot, and with 1/2 of our deadly combo missing, Kapono has struggled to fit in. I think he'll prove his worth as time goes by - despite him being someone one-dimensional

OH-PS - to Triangle Theory - if you're a Lakers fan, you must be excited about the new possibilities with Pau - uhhm... congrats (?)

Thanks man, I don't think a lot of posters get how easy going I am.

Maybe the east coast crowd, but they are easy going by nature. They get the sarcasm before the fight. In fact they will actually make you laugh before an altrication. Eastcoasters are sneaky. ;)

I am a toronto boy and I keep dreaming about being on the coast even though I only spent 3 years there in Dal. Halifax rocks!

(I will switch sides if a Haligonian gets in to scramble here)

i like his game...hes got a sweet shot... pretty clutch.... just not getting the opportunity to get him going... i guess cause he defence is lacking under the mitchell system... not that many plays run for him.... hes a great player for an x's and o's team... not a hustle/run team...

Another Dal person? Man, Nova Scotians real and honourary are taking over.

And Kapono has been doing reasonably well, though in a smaller role than most anticipated. The emergence of Moon and Delfino have helped the team, but cut into his minutes. The fact that he has played primarily with a second unit currently lacking a real point guard has also been a contributing factor; his raw scoring numbers have dropped off since Ford went out, though he's a heady enough player not to compensate by forcing shots.

Jason has decided to give up the 3pt shot, and concentrate on his defense.

I was at the Laker game on Friday, and after JK hit on four consecutive shots, I was yelling "the play's to 24!" I guess Jose didn't hear from the balcony, because Jason never got another touch. Frustrating.

Another Dal guy here. Does anyone know the story of why it's pronounce Dal-house- ey (and not Dalhoosie)?
